Break the Block - Thank you Tahoe House

I suppose the writer's block has finally been chipped down just a little. I'm ready to be inspired and motivated again. Maybe also eager to revolutionalize myself and continue to make a path for where I want to see myself in the future. It's a path for one, and I am embracing this independence of going with the flow revolving only around me and wherever I may want to explore. Most importantly, it's me truly finding my own happiness and self-confidence once again while strengthening my bonds with my family & close friends. I am loving 2017 so much. Before.. this blog was a timid, inhibited, superficial journaling of my workouts, diets, and adventures. I think I still may be timid and superficial (as in I may not scratch beyond the surface), but this time I will try to leave more lasting impressions and thoughts. I've tried it before but only with banana + eggs.. it didn't really come out very well and that day I had scrambled eggs that tasted like bananas. It was slightly off-putting. So today I tried to find a 3-ingredient recipe with oatmeal flour in it. And eventually came with this successful find :D ( Recipe link ) I think having the oatmeal flour helps add texture and a bit of dryness to make cooking these bad babes a lot easier. Although... I still had almost half my batter turn into pancake scramble. HAha! practice makes perfect however. I'm gonna stick with this recipe as long as I have ripe bananas Anddd, it's Sunday! I'm planning to get a workout sesh in today. Debating if I want to do another leg day or BBG. hmm hmm decisio...

These days I've been catching up on youtube videos while on the dreadmill or stair- soul- master . They make the time go by a bit faster while being informative, inspiring, and entertaining. Most of the youtube vlogs end up averaging around 10 mins, and that's enough time for me and my post-lifting cardio sesh (please, don't sign me up for cardio) In the is video Jen Heward does HIIT cardio 1 mins each, do cycle 3x jump rope air squats plie squat jumps mountain climbers (knees to opposite elbow) walking lunges (30 lunges each leg) reverse crunch leg lifts I'm going to attempt to try these in the morning before I head out... but we'll see! She was so sweaty and out of breath afterwards hahah. I can't be tooo tired before I even start my day :P

It was awesome💪👍 A photo posted by AestheticDianasaurus (@rawrdianasaur) on Jun 3, 2015 at 11:04am PDT Today I forced myself to go fasted  NTC workout at my local 24 hour gym. And it was the best decision ever! The hour passed by so quickly, and just working out in a group environment motivated me to push strong throughout the whole workout. Amazeballs :D I will most definitely continue to attend the NTC classes, and as a matter of fact, I'm going to do most of my cardio seshes by gym classes. Today has proven to me that working out in a class setting encourages and uplifts me more than working out by myself. But weightlifting is a different story. I can push myself and encourage myself to be stronger and finish YO sets .

7/12 til Hawaii - where did week 6 go?

so... last week, week 6,  was a week of sadness because I left my heart in Norcal. Unfortunately instead of going to the gym to squeeze out some endorphins, I lounged around eating hot cheetos and ice cream. my goodness, and I feel the effects of the junk food calories. Since I only have 6 more weeks til Hawaii and I really absolutely want abs, I need to crank out my workouts and tone down my diet. For the next 2 weeks, I'm going to just do good old fashioned " eating clean " and taking out all the junk food & processed foods. I don't think I have the patience and experimental mindset to test out iifym for now. And I also do not want to do a low carb-keto diet as of yet because I still want to eat my carbs, most especially fruits. We shall seee. Damn, I really want abs.

What's in my GYM bag?

Okk... so, I've decided to kind of come out of my comfort zone! Currently, I've been interested in vlogging, but more like documenting my random, weekend adventures and outings. And since I just recently got a GoPro, I've been itching to test it out and also film/edit and try to squeeze some creative juices out of me. However, I haven't done anything exciting as of yet . LOL. anyways, for shits and giggles I filmed a Tag: what's in my GYM bag. Gawdd, I get camera shy and now I know some of my mannerisms that I can improve on. I also think with practice, I can become much better at articulating my words and also leveling my speaking skills more with my writing skills (I consider my writing skills more advanced than my conversing skills - Awkward introvert level ). 4/12 til Hawaii - Oh. My.

Sorry guys! I'm not sure how the week passed me by so quickly? It's funny how I've been waking up early and sleeping at a decent hour too. And I think I was quite productive each day, but still didn't give myself enough time and motivation to blog. I think I've been just kind of in a blogging rut - But I promise I worked out! hmmm, if workout is not blogged or documented, was there really a workout? haha jk Wait. I also think I had another culprit - LOL Youtube vids . Lately I've been obsessing over youtubers' apartment tours and morning routines. HAa.. I'm such a "voyeur." Youtube videos have given me other forms of motivation and inspiration, although it does create a lot of wants as well. (well, that's why there's so many ads and product placement right? exactly) Anyways, What I've learned this week : 1) Planning out meals in advance is definitely helpful. 3/12 til Hawaii - Tuesday & Wednesday

Tuesday On cinco de drinko (Tuesday, May 5) I only did a quick fasted BBG Arms & ABs (but in all honesty it was a bit half assed) Wednesday I was actually planning to do fasted volume deadlifting because I ate ALOT of CHIPS the previous night. But my manfriend reminded me that it's about time I do CHEST DAY . LOLOL I fricking hate chest day. The only times I ever workout my chest is when I visit manfriend (long distance relationship) or when I do the pushups that are in the BBG. Ok, So I chugged my preworkout before entering the gym and had my workouts planned out and written out, so I don't look like a lost lamb. Workout plan (Chest) : -Warmup 20 pushups -Benchpress SS with pushups until failure -Chest flyes (mid and low) -Cable chest press -Rear delt flyes -Standing front lat pushdown (I absolutely love this one! you can see your back muscles!) -Tri pushdown CARDIO: 10 mins of cycling 5 mins of sauna GOOD frickin fasted workout! 1/12 til Hawaii - the weekend

Ok, so I will try not to indulge so much in the next 11 weeks. But this weekend I saw my friends and also my manfriend came to visit me. So here's my last "hurrah" to eating and drinking beers leisurely! Met up with Bellies and had Umenoya ramen, in Torrance. haha their spice is pretty killer, and I only got level 1 T_T. Definitely felt it later.. Then we headed towards  Newport beach and rushed to go watch Furious 7 in Imax! Such a bittersweet movie :(. So many feeeeels~ and I love how the franchise is tying in everything to past movies (namely Toyko Drift ), and also how they alluded to Paul Walker's death and good bye in the movie without killing off his character. continuing on - Right afterwards, we kind of rushed to the Newport beach beer festival . 1/12 til Hawaii - Tuesday

Week 1 - Tuesday Nothing really extraordinary this day. well except that I totally killed it at the gym. Again :) In the morning, I originally wanted to go do HIIT sprints on the treadmill. but I just did not have the willpower so I ended up doing Kayla Itsines BBG - Arms & Abs . oh gawd my two most un-favorite body parts to workout *cry face* hahaha this picture made me laugh today I had a busy day at work and also someone sprayed the room with too much air freshener so my head was hurting. I was just too temperamental to want to deal with waiting for machines and racks so I headed straight home afterwards, and happily conversed with family during dinner. LOL this reminds me of Sims when their mood levels get higher when they interact with their friends and family. 1/12 til Hawaii - Monday

Week 1 - Monday I've noticed that most of my titles on this blog are some sort of a countdown. hahha it seems like I live my life in countdowns, can't really blame an NYE baby for that ;D! This time I'm giving myself 12 weeks, so they will be in fraction form. Since it's week 1 right now, it's 1/12! I earnestly did each workout of the Monday Legs and Cardio . For each circuit of 7 minutes, I was able to do it 2x.. too fast too serious.  Working out in the morning allows me to be more proactive and productive throughout the day. I already know about myself that I get quite exhausted, drained by the end of day. Also, I have this personal rule to not intake any caffeine after 12pm. So I'm trying to make my cardio, which is also fasted, in the morning since motivation for cardio is the hardest for me to bring about. Monday evening, I got off work a little earlier than usual. Exactly 12 weeks til Hawaii!!

Anytime is a good time to start fitness. But if not abs on the daily is inspiring enough, then Hawaii should be one of the  motivational  reasons to really dedicate & challenge myself. So I am going to restart the Kayla Itsines BBG guide and do it thoroughly. The past months I've been jumping around within the program while doing my own thing on the side. But this time around I will do each and every workout exactly how it is scheduled. LOL I took my "before" picture for the umpteenth time, but let's hope that I will be able to comfortably frolic around Hawaii with ABS :D  Time to go to Week 1's Monday: Legs & cardio!

Pursuit of summer body: Week 1 - Tuesday

I'm going to restart my counting once again. At the beginning of this year, I planned to keep track of the weeks alongside the calendar.. But it's already week 9 of 2015 ? and uhh I don't show 9 weeks of progress currently. Progress and regress, am I right? So, I took a "Day 1" picture today. Haha, how many "day 1" pics have I already taken?? My ultimate fitness goal is to have abs for this summer. Huzzah, time to be aesthetic Today started off with a little bit of a hiccup. But sometimes things happen even if you plan accordingly and in advance. Certain aspects are out of your hand, so what can you do? Just recoup and try to recover. After running some errands in the morning, I went to a different LA fitness location since it was closer. I really don't like it when trainers try to be nice and ask you if you want to be trained. And they pretty much dilly-dally around so they can show you  basic workouts, then eventually end up at their desk talk...

Week 8 - Friday. I hate you LA fitness

I don't have a complete food journal for Friday, because after work. I came straight home instead of stropping by the gym and just ate a lot of carbs - CHIPS, CEREAL, huge bowl of BROWN RICE. I should've stopped by the gym as originally planned, but I am currently peeved off at LA fitness . Friday afternoon, I found out I had already paid for the month of February and March. This royally pisses me off because the whole month of February, I've been working out at home and doing a lot of cardio when all that time I had gym access.  Even though I DID NOT want to pay for it. But what can you do? BAD business ethics, and they won't refund my money. I was so frustrated and irritated that I wanted to punch & kick everything on my way out yesterday. In hindsight, I should've gone into the gym and kicked at the punching bag - since oh hey I can go into the gym. I had to go straight to work however. Crumbling paper up and glaring at inanimate objects helped me calm d...

Week 4 - a recap

Tuesday, Jan 27 Workout: Didn't workout this day. Still ate low carb/keto &  kept full with the Costco Mamma chia blackberry hibiscus drink . A bit too sweet for me but the whole bottle only has 64 g of carbs and it can last you for a whole week. Also , I rearranged my clothes and truly found out how many sports bras I own! Seeing all the sports bras I own, I feel like I should be a buff girl by now! haha why is getting abs and growing a butt hard? I must like food too much? That must be it. Wednesday, Jan 28 Workout: Fasted cardio in the morning 4 rounds of 7 minute HIIT Ate Souplantation but stayed away from the carby stuff (pasta and baked goods). Week 3 - Tues, Wed, Thurs

Jan 20, Tuesday Did Kayla Itsines BBG + HIIT in the afternoon before lunch. I'm kind of a cheater because I only do her circuits one time through then do 2 circuits of 30:30 Jumping jacks. Total is still 4 circuits, each 7 minutes long. This is what I mean: 1st circuit = Wk 3 MON circuit 1 Legs 2nd = 30:30 jumping jacks/jump rope HIIT 3rd = Wk 3 MON circuit 2 Legs 4th = 30:30 jumping jacks/jump rope HIIT Then in the evening after work, I went straight to gym and did squats fasted. Getting stronger! I can actually squat 135 lbs 4x! Where did that strength come from? Must be from "bulking" haha Jan 21, Wednesday - Lazy, Rest day Jan 22, Thursday HIIT 4 circuits of 7 minute 30:30 jumping jack/jump rope Most likely will go to gym in evening and workout the back muscos. Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday - 16 days left

I need to be more on point with my diet this week. The past weekend I had japchae, tortilla chips & spinach dips, ice cream, frosted mini wheats, and salt & vinegar chips; carbs were clearly my friend this weekend... I even took naps after snacking. HAHA leap one step forward, fall back two steps is the name of my progress  Monday did Fasted cardio: Week 2 Monday BBG. need more energy! Tuesday August vs Oct. hahah not much gains or losses. No time for fasted cardio but eventually ended up at LA fitness and got a 2 month pass. Not sure if I got an ok deal because my gut feeling for some reason is that I got hustled and rushed. -_- but oh well... I did really miss going to the gym tremendously and feel like I won't take the gym for granted. I think the winning factor for me personally was that I can actually jog/run/walk to this gym if I am so inclined to - Extra CARDIO :) I shall make this one of my month goals before it gets much too cold and/or rainy. day 18: Fasted dancing/insanity

okk, little confession, I didn't work out yesterday because I told myself I would sprint in the evening after work.. But, the sun keeps setting earlier and earlier and well my mind and body thinks I should get ready for bed soon Z.z haha. At least I got a lot of studying done instead I either need to make my willpower stronger or move my sprinting schedule to earlier. Knowing myself completely, I will have to do HIIT/sprints earlier. One advantage of not having the gym for lifting seshes is that I am more strict on my low carb/keto diet. Before I'd say ohh I can burn off the ice cream or this slice of pizza or eat my burgers with buns since I'll make today a squat/deadlift day. But now I'm really trying to limit carbs to about 50g or less a day. I don't think I burn nearly as many calories doing cardio as I did when I lifted. But it's A-OK. I still eat well :) Example: this steak fajitas wrapped in lettuce because I was craving tacos and burritos. And...
