9 days left: I don't know what to tell ya, the days are passing by so fast

Since I last blogged, I have generally been pretty good with my intake of food. Recently, my friends and I also started to snapchat each other of all our meals, snacks, and indulgments to help motivate each other. The idea of not dieting alone and kind of making this a team effort, help make healthy eating more enjoyable instead of being a sacrificing task hahah. But there have been a couple of days when I had some drinks and ate not so healthy according to my diet plan. I think realistically, I'll be having close to 4 cheat days in a span of 20 days. That's 80% healthy eating hmm.. "Going up on a Tueday," and feeling like a rebel.. lol 👵👵👵 A photo posted by D e a d l i f t s🍩D o n u t s (@rawrdianasaur) on May 17, 2016 at 6:39pm PDT Oh well, for each cheat day/meal, I've had great conversations and memories making every day worthwhile & meaningful <3 You have to give permission to yourself to be nice to yourself. Then you continue along...

20 days left: Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Well, every day is Mother's day , so I hope you remember to treat your mamas (& papas) with respect and love everyday!! Treat them to something delicious or better yet, make them a meal filled with so much love and thought. And instead of making up excuses and complaining, go with an open heart to answer their favors and help with errands. Our parents do so much for us. I only hope that with each day, we try to comprehend all their sacrifices, passion, and devotion to our families. What you know about meal prep Sunday?? With that said, this Sunday (Mother's Day 2016!) I had marked to be the day that I start dieting more wholesome and low carb !  So... my goal is to have 3 or less "cheat days" in the next 20 days. Oh man, it's going to be kind of hard to have low carb snacks ready on hand. But these are some quick bites I consider easy and convenient to make: hard-boiled eggs nuts, fruits protein waffle/pancake greek yogurt ham and cheese rol...

28 days left: last day of April - BBGmeetupOC

BBGmeetupOC (April 30, 2016) On a endorphin-high right now cause I got to meet some babes IRL😍🙌, my @polarglobal watch says I burnt 416 calories, & tasted some delectable treats from @the_unbakery! Not bad for an introvert, not badd *insert success baby meme* Happy Saturday yall! . . . . . #polara300#workout#fitspiration#fitspo#bbg#thekaylamovement#bbgmeetupoc#squatspo#girlswholift#healthy#fitness#strongnotskinny#beachbody#justdoit#cardio#hiit#bbgla#nikela#asiangirl#iifym#squat#nike#gymapparel#shesquats#blog#gymlife#lornajane#progress#nike#operationbuildabooty A photo posted by D e a d l i f t s🍩D o n u t s (@rawrdianasaur) on Apr 30, 2016 at 1:33pm PDT I was lucky enough to sign up for the 10 am session. It's so strange on my part.. that I have this weird habit of mentally trying to come up excuses to flake out of an event. I think it's my social-anxiety and timidness to go somewhere by myself. But I'm really pushing myself to not have this mindset a...

A photo posted by D e a d l i f t s🍩D o n u t s (@rawrdianasaur) on Apr 24, 2016 at 9:58am PDT I saw a super ripe banana on the counter, so I'm glad the little light bulb went off and I thought about Banana pancakes! I've tried it before but only with banana + eggs.. it didn't really come out very well and that day I had scrambled eggs that tasted like bananas. It was slightly off-putting. So today I tried to find a 3-ingredient recipe with oatmeal flour in it. And eventually came with this successful find :D ( Recipe link ) I think having the oatmeal flour helps add texture and a bit of dryness to make cooking these bad babes a lot easier. Although... I still had almost half my batter turn into pancake scramble. HAha! practice makes perfect however. I'm gonna stick with this recipe as long as I have ripe bananas Anddd, it's Sunday! I'm planning to get a workout sesh in today. Debating if I want to do another leg day or BBG. hmm hmm decisio...

It's my weeekend, and got so many things to do on my list 😤. But no BS, except for some breakfast&squats cause today is a bootyful day to save lives 🍑😜. I call it time-managing done well *joking*. However, since I spent so many of my hours sleeping, I was unable to dedicate any hours to workouts this week. Pretty ridiculous xD! But in my defense, I do a lot of walking aroun...

Let me try this again x infinity

You know how sometimes you have a goal-dream-ambition & then you let go of it for a while and forget about it? But then like an intuition the drive comes back full force to you when your soul, mind, and body  are ready for it again.. Past couple of days I've been wanting to blog again. Nothing different has changes or occurred in my days (which I am thankful for because I am very satisfied & happy with the course and pace it is going at currently). I think I want to challenge myself creatively  a little bit and do a little passion project for myself. Maybe it's the spring forward daylight saving time change & my body somehow knows the days will be longer to get more shit done! hooray Maybe it's because I've been listening to podcasts on my commutes, and it has opened up my mind to other areas of growth again and Maybe it's because spring is here now and summer is upon us again soon. Which means, summer bodies right? and this is a fitness-lifestyl...

Saturday's DTLA BBG meetup

#sweatwithLA The night before, I estimated that commute would take 40-45 mins, locating parking and walking to the meetup would take 15 mins. What I didn't account for was me snoozing the alarm and oversleeping for almost an hour. Luckily my timeline previously was to be at Grand Park by 8am; the workouts would start promptly at 8:45 am. I pick up my friend, and of course it takes us more than 10 mins to actually find parking. Then we speed-walk to the original location of the meetup, but there's another event happening, so we speed-walk to another area of the park. We made it right when they were finishing up the yoga warmup. This was my first BBG meetup and also the first time doing the workouts in a group/workout buddy setting. Although my friend and I whined occasionally: "omgg my abs are on fire; wehh; what, still 2 more mins??" It was a great experience to see so many other girls working out and pushing themselves - that truly motivated me to work hard...

Week 1

Sunday, Jan 17 Ended up cultivating mass|bulking from all the eating adventures - Not even mad 😏😏. BUT, how to not lose the boobies & booty when leaning down 😟?? #cardio#nikela#vans#iifym#bulking#operationbuildabooty#asiangirl#bbg#diet#eatforabs#kaylasarmy#fitfam#gymapparel#fitness#fitspiration#fitspo#girlsthatlift#girlswholift#healthy#selfie#instafit#kaylaitsines#liftheavy#shelifts#workout#abs#squat#stairmaster#belfie#foodie A photo posted by D e a d l i f t s🍩D o n u t s (@rawrdianasaur) on Jan 15, 2016 at 9:09am PST ok, confession : I ate so tremendously much during the past month. December is my birthday month! and also, winter is the season for bulking.. right? (I totally gained some fat in my glutes & chest area however! along with the belly, of course) Honestly, I really don't know how my appetite grew so much and my stomach was actually able to house almost all the things I saw with my hungry eyes. Pretty much, your girl ate very well, and my ...

Hello 2016

Image
Yes Yes, I am a bit late for the hello 2016 party. I've been relatively MIA from social media the past 2 weeks because I tried to stay in the present and embrace every moment spent with my manfriend & friends! While with him, I've hardly had any time to peruse through social media; I've realized how much time I have spent just browsing through instagram, fb, etc - but it's because I had so much independent time for myself. Now that I'm back from the 2 week vacation of visiting my manfriend, I want to continue not being so compulsively addicted to social media - skimming through the feeds a bit more than I'd like to admit. It was quite liberating not being on social media as often. I think I'd like to spend more time reading, listening to podcasts, and generally being better with time-management & efficiency. We'll see though! It's a work in progress and I still want to continue blogging & documenting my progress and adventures :) ...

well, obviously

My blog took a summer break along with me... I miss the long summer days and being less busy though. I don't want my blog to disappear off to oblivion so I'm going to try putting content more often, (goal for now, once a week at least??) We'll see how it goes, I have to be better with time management, and also find a way to stay perky all day instead of just from 5am-1pm. But no worries! I've been eating healthy, drinking lots of water, trying to get in an appropriate amount of sleep each night, and also squeezing in my workouts. Thanks to this video, it has spurred me to come back to my blog and share it :D

10/12 til Hawaii

Image
Current Summer Morning Routine This week, I originally planned to wake up at 5 am, but unconsciously turned off the alarm (every single day of the week.. I guess 5 am isn't happening yo). Alas I woke up at 6:45 am today. Nevertheless, I strive to start off the mornings well. Make it a Good Morning !~ While I brush my teeth, I boil a full kettle of water for my black coffee and freshly brewed passion fruit tea that I. and my family, can drink throughout the day. I don't know why, but drinking tea just makes the day a little better instantly. While I wait for the coffee grounds to steep, I try to do something productive. It rotates about these activites depending on how early I wake up and how I feel that particular morning: listen to podcasts (current favorites are The Smart Passive Income  and Ear Biscuits ) while checking my instagram feed read my daily devotional and have QT with God listen to edm unceunce music and do fasted cardio, pushups, pullups, ab wheels. Gen...

9/12 til Hawaii - cardio to cap the week

Image
EDC has completely slipped my mind this year,  until it popped up everywhere on social media. It's always fun seeing people's outfits and hair accessories. I think deciding on outfits is part of the excitement and anticipation for attending music festivals. And we all know that Edc bods are hashtag summer goals right? Anyways,  this year I didnt feel any sense of "fomo" except when I woke up this morning and read about Walter White (Bryan Cranston) ft Above & Beyond! This Breaking Bad fan is so peanut butter and jealous. That badassery must've been pretty awesome to witness. Ok, main point of this post. I love to tune into the livestreams during my workouts. I usually end up dancing along with the go-go dancers, djs, and attendees. Even though I'm not at the festival, and would probably never go to EDC, it is still entertaining to listen to the streams especially within the comforts of your house - clean bathrooms, comfy bed, water, food, ac, no traf...

ix myGSOM

On this day, I didn't feel like dressing up and just decided to stay casual. So I decided to make my gym apparel more exciting. I actually found this tribal print tank on sale at Pacsun , but it was a size too big. No big deal! Just wear a bandeau underneath, or in my case a sports bra, and knot it up on the side - make it knotty. heh heh I think this yoga pose is called the Toe Stand . Let me tell you, it was a bit of a challenge to keep my balance and does require concentration. But try it out, it's quite fun! ix. This pose kind of made me feel like a genie - "your wish is my command." ✨ A photo posted by DonutDiana (@rawrdianasaur) on Jun 11, 2015 at 4:19pm PDT

7/12 til Hawaii - sun, mon, tues

Image
Ok! so I've been pretty stellar about my diet . The only thing processed I've been consuming is wheat bread, oatmeal, and protein powder. And absolutely no junk food eaten so far! haha I think when I was trying out IIFYM , I gave myself the liberty to eat some junk food saying, ahh all carbs are the same. But I think my body does appreciate more natural carbs from fruits instead. Regardless, it does make me feel fresher and filled more with vitality when I eat sources straight from the earth. Also! My current morning caffeine fix is the cold brewed black coffee!  I'm liking the convenience of not having to wait for water to boil, and the sweeter notes of the coffee as well. :)) Plus it's quite nice to sip on a cold coffee on a sunny day Sun Ended May with an awesome Squat Sunday and Legs session. Mon Noticed the gym is most definitely getting busier as the days are getting longer and summer is upon us. Had a pretty decent back workout after work, but was too l...

7/12 til Hawaii - where did week 6 go?

Image
so... last week, week 6,  was a week of sadness because I left my heart in Norcal. Unfortunately instead of going to the gym to squeeze out some endorphins, I lounged around eating hot cheetos and ice cream. my goodness, and I feel the effects of the junk food calories. Since I only have 6 more weeks til Hawaii and I really absolutely want abs, I need to crank out my workouts and tone down my diet. For the next 2 weeks, I'm going to just do good old fashioned " eating clean " and taking out all the junk food & processed foods. I don't think I have the patience and experimental mindset to test out iifym for now. And I also do not want to do a low carb-keto diet as of yet because I still want to eat my carbs, most especially fruits. We shall seee. Damn, I really want abs.

Exactly 12 weeks til Hawaii!!

Anytime is a good time to start fitness. But if not abs on the daily is inspiring enough, then Hawaii should be one of the  motivational  reasons to really dedicate & challenge myself. So I am going to restart the Kayla Itsines BBG guide and do it thoroughly. The past months I've been jumping around within the program while doing my own thing on the side. But this time around I will do each and every workout exactly how it is scheduled. LOL I took my "before" picture for the umpteenth time, but let's hope that I will be able to comfortably frolic around Hawaii with ABS :D  Time to go to Week 1's Monday: Legs & cardio!

Week 3 - Tues, Wed, Thurs

Image
Jan 20, Tuesday Did Kayla Itsines BBG + HIIT in the afternoon before lunch. I'm kind of a cheater because I only do her circuits one time through then do 2 circuits of 30:30 Jumping jacks. Total is still 4 circuits, each 7 minutes long. This is what I mean: 1st circuit = Wk 3 MON circuit 1 Legs 2nd = 30:30 jumping jacks/jump rope HIIT 3rd = Wk 3 MON circuit 2 Legs 4th = 30:30 jumping jacks/jump rope HIIT Then in the evening after work, I went straight to gym and did squats fasted. Getting stronger! I can actually squat 135 lbs 4x! Where did that strength come from? Must be from "bulking" haha Jan 21, Wednesday - Lazy, Rest day Jan 22, Thursday HIIT 4 circuits of 7 minute 30:30 jumping jack/jump rope Most likely will go to gym in evening and workout the back muscos. Then afterwards sweat it out some more in the sauna. wooo Currently, I enjoy having a countdown timer on the screen while doing my cardio and watching The Biggest Loser . The cast is working ...
