9 days left: I don't know what to tell ya, the days are passing by so fast

Since I last blogged, I have generally been pretty good with my intake of food. Recently, my friends and I also started to snapchat each other of all our meals, snacks, and indulgments to help motivate each other. The idea of not dieting alone and kind of making this a team effort, help make healthy eating more enjoyable instead of being a sacrificing task hahah. But there have been a couple of days when I had some drinks and ate not so healthy according to my diet plan. I think realistically, I'll be having close to 4 cheat days in a span of 20 days. That's 80% healthy eating hmm.. These days I've been catching up on youtube videos while on the dreadmill or stair- soul- master . They make the time go by a bit faster while being informative, inspiring, and entertaining. Most of the youtube vlogs end up averaging around 10 mins, and that's enough time for me and my post-lifting cardio sesh (please, don't sign me up for cardio) In the is video Jen Heward does HIIT cardio 1 mins each, do cycle 3x jump rope air squats plie squat jumps mountain climbers (knees to opposite elbow) walking lunges (30 lunges each leg) reverse crunch leg lifts I'm going to attempt to try these in the morning before I head out... but we'll see! She was so sweaty and out of breath afterwards hahah. I can't be tooo tired before I even start my day :P

Current Summer Morning Routine This week, I originally planned to wake up at 5 am, but unconsciously turned off the alarm (every single day of the week.. I guess 5 am isn't happening yo). Alas I woke up at 6:45 am today. Nevertheless, I strive to start off the mornings well. Make it a Good Morning !~ While I brush my teeth, I boil a full kettle of water for my black coffee and freshly brewed passion fruit tea that I. and my family, can drink throughout the day. I don't know why, but drinking tea just makes the day a little better instantly. While I wait for the coffee grounds to steep, I try to do something productive. It rotates about these activites depending on how early I wake up and how I feel that particular morning: listen to podcasts (current favorites are The Smart Passive Income  and Ear Biscuits ) while checking my instagram feed read my daily devotional and have QT with God listen to edm unceunce music and do fasted cardio, pushups, pullups, ab wheels. Okk... so, I've decided to kind of come out of my comfort zone! Currently, I've been interested in vlogging, but more like documenting my random, weekend adventures and outings. And since I just recently got a GoPro, I've been itching to test it out and also film/edit and try to squeeze some creative juices out of me. However, I haven't done anything exciting as of yet . LOL. anyways, for shits and giggles I filmed a Tag: what's in my GYM bag. Gawdd, I get camera shy and now I know some of my mannerisms that I can improve on. I also think with practice, I can become much better at articulating my words and also leveling my speaking skills more with my writing skills (I consider my writing skills more advanced than my conversing skills - Awkward introvert level ). 5/12 til Hawaii - so far this week :)

ok so it is Wednesday  and so far I have been pretty good with working out and generally keeping my diet low carb. Except, I am wanting, such want, a donut! Must restrain and see how effectively one week of dedication can show me. Things I have been working on so far: Documenting my food helps me stay on track and be mindful of the carbs. I've been letting most of my carbs be fruits (except sometimes I've been allowing myself cereal in the morning) hehe "healthy breakfast" food Satiating myself with lots of water & tea. And also drinking a full cup of water first thing in the morning. and also not dilly-dallying around much in the morning and forcing myself to do fasted cardio  asap. Or, if I'm not planning to do fasted cardio, I try to eat breakfast to fuel me up for a lifting sesh! doing more cardio by adding it in after lifting. Why yes, I do love Abs & BBQ still sore from squats & deadlifts! Not really complaining, since it means my muscles are growing :) Fasted AM workout : attempted to do week 3 BBG LEGS. did some jump squats and burpees, but eventually just ended up doing jumping jacks and jumproping while watching The Neighbors hahah! zemmm Zac Efron and his body that "is like a giant arrow that points to his dick" LMAO umm, other than the morning workout, I have been generally lazy and did work on my desk all day. Food-wise, I tried to not eat anything processed today. I also ate fruits after eating pork belly for lunch because I was still a little hungry - definitely helped satiate me. yahh nothing exciting or noteworthy today. LOL talking about fruits right hahah

1/12 til Hawaii - Wednesday

Week 1 Wednesday haha I had a sinful coffee shake from Mcdonalds in the morning, but my body decided to be a bit lactose intolerant. lol! so morning gym was delayed for a little bit -_- I was finally able to go to the gym and did 12 minutes of sprinting HIIT  on the treadmill then 8 mins of cycling & cool down. Throughout the day, I ate relatively clean and low carb,  until I came back from work and saw a bag of kettle chips in the kitchen....my gawd, my weakness. cheeeps haha 86 days I am editing this Thursday morning and I am incredibly sore from the squats done Tuesday evening. And NOT as bloated this morning as I thought I'd be hehe (from the chip gorge 'party'). I also think I must've hurt my left knee from sprinting, because when I squat down and try to get up, it feels so fragile and unstable! ahhh I hope it's something that can be healed naturally by my awesome body. Going to foam roll the shit out of my legs and try to increase blood flow. F...

1/12 til Hawaii - Monday

Week 1 - Monday I've noticed that most of my titles on this blog are some sort of a countdown. hahha it seems like I live my life in countdowns, can't really blame an NYE baby for that ;D! This time I'm giving myself 12 weeks, so they will be in fraction form. Since it's week 1 right now, it's 1/12! I earnestly did each workout of the Monday Legs and Cardio . For each circuit of 7 minutes, I was able to do it 2x.. too fast too serious.  Working out in the morning allows me to be more proactive and productive throughout the day. I already know about myself that I get quite exhausted, drained by the end of day. Also, I have this personal rule to not intake any caffeine after 12pm. So I'm trying to make my cardio, which is also fasted, in the morning since motivation for cardio is the hardest for me to bring about. Monday evening, I got off work a little earlier than usual. Summer body: Week 5 - YOGA

This week is definitely one of progress, or one that is more noticeable to me. It's very motivating! SO if you feel uninspired or sad that all your hard work isn't showing, just push through and continue on - working out consistently and being one step closer each time is better than quitting & regressing back to old habits. I truly think 3.5-4 weeks is the magic number . Tumblr agrees too (I used to think this was so cliche, but all cliches have a truth right) I actually didn't know about the 12 weeks part, but now that I think about, that's probably why Tony Horton's P90x is 90 days and Kayla Itsine's Bikini Body Guide is 12 weeks. It makes sense! Progress : Getting stronger by lifting is tying in extremely well with yoga practice! Forearm handstand and crow pose is coming through :) (Ludacris - Good Lovin) This is the first time I lifted my legs up against the wall. Summer body: Week 5 - seeing progress!

I'm going to say... progress starts to show up around week 3-4 depending on extent of workouts and of course how you eat as well. But, consistency is definitely key. This is my abs pictures from the beginning of Week 4. ABS are peeking through! And I haven't been doing much ab work, although I have increased my cardio - been adding about 10 mins of cardio after lifting sessions & also sometimes doing quick cardio bursts in between sets. Furthermore, with lifting heavy and deadlifting, I'm made some back definition! heh was surprised when I was trying to tie up my hair and noticed my back. Awesome.

Summer body: Week 4 - concluding it

Bloop Bloop Thurs Went to the gym to swim some laps, and generally just work on my tan while having fun. It's been years since I've swam laps in the pool. Love how our bodies have muscle memory. Since it was my last day with LA fitness, I wanted to make the most of the membership. hahah luckily Thursdays are when there's an awesome cycling instructor. His music choice is on fleek, on point (jk ugh those phrases are so cringeworthy). I was late to class, but I actually frickin stayed for the rest of 50 minutes. Felt like such a champ (especially since I was still sore from squats). Fri rest day.. But I went to Souplantation and ate for my muscles?? :) heh. Also got an awesome vanilla froyo with the works - peanuts, crumbled oreos, granola, chocolate syrup, caramel. YUM x 3. Bouquet of Dogs? I absolutely want. Summer body: Week 4 - Tuesday & Wednesday

Tuesday Drank a fruity, carby smoothie for energy and went to gym to do volume squat training & squat jumps in between sets. Manfriend said doing cardio in between sets is helpful for burning fat. Ok fine you convinced me. Fanny pack was a great idea Wednesday The day was glorious and not too hot. For fasted cardio I tried to jog around my block; I looked up the distance and realized if I jogged up and down 5x = 1 mile. Buttt, I absolutely am not a fan of cardio so after doing that twice decided to instead just fast walk around the neighborhood. haha I found a lavender bush along the way! :)) going to make a natural bug/spider repellent with the sprigs I collect >:) PM workout: did back & bicep lifting sesh then 10 mins of cycling

Summer body: End of Week 3

Saturday Had to run errands and revolved them around the vicinity of the gym. I was a little short on time and also kind of sore, so I did a fasted ARMS & ABS cardio circuit: -pushups -squat and press with dumb bells -tricep dip -decline pushups -mountain climbers -jumping jack & jump rope -ab twist -straight leg sit ups -bicycles -box jumps Afterwards, I had some more time to kill and was also quite energetic (cellucor preworkout) so I did: -face pulls -single arm lat pull downs -chest press and flyes On this day I didn't do the high-impact cardio parts as vigorously as I would've liked. Why? Because the sports bra I was wearing did not have much support. I tried to do HIIT box jumps but had to quit because, hey, I don't want saggy boobs in the future - "physical activity subjects your breasts to stress that can cause breast tissues to stretch out over time." :O uh nooo haha

Anyone watch The Bachelor ? haha whenever I skip washing my hair, I think I'm pulling a Britt. LOL but... I'm gonna go the gym again tomorrow morning. what's the point of washing my hair at night? o:) I think I look relatively clean. Just put your hair up or whatevs, cover it up with a hat :P AM workout : quick fasted cardio sesh Lunch: pho Snack: 1/2 a Banh mi Dinner: rotisserie chicken, shrimp, pork "hash browns" + salad PM workout : Deadlift sesh + 12 min cycling I'm still trying to figure out my workout schedule. Wondering if I should keep my fasted morning cardio or change it to fed lifting sessions instead. Hmm hmm

Week 8 - Wednesday

Tuesday's food journal So, my newest obsession may be   microwaved cheese crackers  :D They're made so magically and easily! I just get shredded cheese and put a thin layer onto a microwave-safe plate. Then heat it up in the microwave for about 60 seconds. It's ok when the cheese is bubbling. I let it cool down for a little so it'll be slightly crunchy when I nom into it :) Oh, today I woke up quite late and didn't workout.. BUT I was finally able to get the 2 year 24 hr fitness gym membership  from Costco. I SO missed going to the gym and squatting and lifting and getting butt gains. Also, haha today is the start of the 3rd day of not washing hair. Incredible! I am someone who absolutely loves to shower and gets grumpy when I feel oily and icky. I also workout pretty much everyday. Sometimes even twice a day. Therefore, I used to shower daily. However, during the colder periods of this winter, I noticed my hair and skin were probably being overly washed ...

Week 8 - Tuesday

I tell my manfriend this ALL the time. He's been patiently waiting lol. Last week (end of week 7), I was browsing through instagram and #kaylaitsines when I realized that it has already passed the halfway point of 12 weeks! I should be halfway to abs, but I'm not sure if I really am. My diet has not been on par, so it's time to kick it up a notch and really be closer to getting abs in the next (ONLY) 4 more weeks!  But first, lemme get a donut . FREE donut today at all krispy kreme stores! It's ok bro, I added it to my macros already :)) Flexible dieting  for the win But the bad thing about going to krispy kreme is that I just can't stop at just one donut. Haha I ended up getting 4 donuts total - to share with family of course! haha ;) I haven't had donuts since early December in Seattle. Unfortunately, we went to get the donuts in the evening so they didn't have much selection and also the donuts were cold. :( I have forgotten, hot, fresh don...

Week 8 - Monday

I'm going to try to input my calories and macros through myfitnesspal and just put up my food journal on here. LOL don't judge my random meals. And also even though my calories may not be "a lot," I eat intuitively and eat when I'm hungry. Also, yesterday's Monday, I woke up a bit late - a little before lunch time. That is why I only had 2 meals. Workout:  Fasted Kayla Itsines Week 10 Monday - Legs Mondaze are hard; have to get back to the weekly grind! Let's make the last week of February great! + saved my carbs for an evening beer o:)

Week 7 - Friday

Friday - Fasted cardio : week 7 of Kayla Itsines workouts. I did the whole thang and made it a Total body workout : legs, abs, arms, cardio. It was lots of burpees, sump squats, pushups, leg raises - Bfast   coach's oats with frozen fruits and activia strawberry yogurt -Lunch wheat bread sandwich with ham, gouda cheese, and avocado -Dinner pan-fried corvina fish - Snack : lots of chips :( Earlier this week I originally decided I wanted to do IIFYM/flexible dieting. I was going to try out 40C 35P 25F, because this girl wants to eat her carbs and still get abs and live that fit girl dream! However, I remembered that I bought gelatin capsules because I read that they can help with plateaus and generally have great health benefits. BUT, it seems to really jumpstart fat loss when done conjointly with a keto/low carb diet . Guess I'm back to doing keto/low carb for a bit. I ate way too many 'unhealthy' processed carbs this week anyways o:) PS: wha...

Week 7 - Thursday

Thursday - Fasted cardio : sumo squat jumps, jumping lunges, ab wheels, pushups, mountain climbers -Bfast strawberry, banana smoothie salad with walnuts, tangerine, avocado, onions, cucumber. Italian dressing -Lunch 1 slice of wheat bread + cheese + sandwich meat activia yogurt -Dinner Korean rice cake soup because it's Lunar New Year!  look at those carby goodness haha
