because who doesn't want to do less cardio?

These days I've been catching up on youtube videos while on the dreadmill or stair- soul- master . They make the time go by a bit faster while being informative, inspiring, and entertaining. Most of the youtube vlogs end up averaging around 10 mins, and that's enough time for me and my post-lifting cardio sesh (please, don't sign me up for cardio) In the is video Jen Heward does HIIT cardio 1 mins each, do cycle 3x jump rope air squats plie squat jumps mountain climbers (knees to opposite elbow) walking lunges (30 lunges each leg) reverse crunch leg lifts I'm going to attempt to try these in the morning before I head out... but we'll see! She was so sweaty and out of breath afterwards hahah. I can't be tooo tired before I even start my day :P

Deadlifting high :)

Today was my deadlifting day! But I was also very lazy in the morning and didn't do fasted cardio. xD Must go harder tmw then for cardio. So.. Last time I did deadlift with my man friend, I got to surpass my mental and physical block of 135 lbs! Holy guacamole. For months I've been stuck and could NOT lift it off the floor at all. However, after a couple of weeks of not working on deadlifts, I was so shocked that I lifted 135 lbs with ease and actually went up to 155 lbs in one gym session. It was crazy I tell you! I can't believe I'm making these gains everywhere. Seeing progress like that really motivates me more and puts me on such a high because there's proof that my body is indeed changing and getting strong. It's an amazing experience even though I still feel like a noob at the gym sometimes. I wonder if I'll ever have that confidence at the gym (maybe when I finally get abs and can shamelessly walk around with a sports bra on, GLOAT). My work...

Volume Training

This past weekend my Buffy @grraceface put me through squats volume training. That was on Saturday, today is Monday evening and my legs are still sorely sore. With 75 lbs I did 10 set of 10 reps, with 90 seconds of rest between each set. 10x10 = 100 squats! Usually with squats you're supposed to do the hip thrust once you're up, but with the volume training she told me to go deep down into the squats and just come back up then squat.. til yo set is done. I noticed the first 4 sets were ok/do-able but once I got to sets 5-7 I was faltering. I think the 8th set was the hardest for me, but I told myself just 2 more sets and 9th and 10th were done with more ease. Interesting how our bodies and minds tie in mentally and physically so well. Deadlifting high

This past weekend I had one of the best workouts I have ever had because my best friend came to visit me and there was finally someone who pushed me with my workouts. I asked him for a regimen that'll target our backs and butt so it consisted of sprint walking on a "hill," lunges, squats, deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pullups, pushups, and leg raises. I was definitely sore for the next two days. I am so glad of this workout because I was able to show myself how much I can push myself and how much I can endure and achieve. Our workout lasted two hours and although I was relieved it was over, I felt like maybe, just maybe, I could've done more; well, to the point of pure fall to the floor exhaustion. With squats I was able to do 95 lbs but was a little too scared to do more. (my squats before were with 25 lb plates only :P) And for someone who never deadlifted because she was scared of hurting her back, I was able to do two sets with 95 lbs. I love having workout buddies

I'm very "high expectation" when I write down my workouts each time. Meaning, each workout is pretty dang intense. However when I workout by myself, I tend to give myself some leeway and you know, take out some reps here and there. Mebbe a set too... o:) BUT, when I'm working out with friends, I realized they're all amazingly very motivating and are really good at pushing both of us to complete the regimen that I wrote down; no leeway. Maybe... One of my best friends and I have decided to workout together every Wednesdays! So good because we keep each other accountable and learn new workout routines. I think I want us to switch off every other week to plan out the workout of the day :P But yesterday I planned the workout and she wanted to do arms and I wanted to do booty ARMS -Dips -Cable crossovers -Cable pressdown -on knees pushups LEGS -leg press -swiss machine kick backs -abduction on floor -jumping squats (vs she did wide stance, narrow stance, and sumo stance squats) I usually do weights that I can go as 'heavy' as I personally can and do 8 reps each. But with Anabelle, we sometimes did lighter weights and instead did more reps. It works! my arms are hurtingg Love how we're working out together! But then we went to yardhouse afterwards and enjoyed some happy hour goods. OOPS :) maybe next time we won't do that, except just enjoy a post-workout brew ;)

My dirty little secret

I think it's secretly hilarious when you see the interesting sweat marks when people work out. -like when your guy dance instructor for zumba wears gray sweats and you can see the sweat pool on his booty; just stick with black pants for sure -when someone is wearing a really tight sports bra and you can see where her back fat squeezes because of which areas are dry vs wet But I'm not hatinggg nor judging. I just think it's very interesting and I get amused by myself. Like this amuses me so I took a selfie of it :P Being sweaty at the gym is awesome! To me personally, it's a testament of how hard I push myself. The more sweaty I am, the more rewarded I feel! and I'm a crybabyy! 'Ultimate' butt workout

I'm sure if you're around tumblr, you might've seen this workout floating about. I finally decided to go to fitbodyhq.com and check out their page: it's golden! I don't know, but for some reason, I just want to read every single article and try out every single workout... Maybe it's because the workouts seem doable and reasonable and don't just throw you into the extreme workout regimens. But they're perfectly challenging as well. Bootay and Legs

HEY BUFF PEOPLE!

BRO. seriously? It's amazing and impressive that you can leg press this, but how about me? That's already 810 pounds just from the weights, which is approximately 7x heavier than me. GRRR. gym etiquette = re-rack please. taking off 45 plates 16x is already kind of a small workout for me. Sorry. I'm going to label this as a world class douchebag move gym, etiquette, workout, legpress, legs, glutes, thighs, butt, fit, fitness, motivation, douchebag, jerk, showoff
