Virtual Sets

It's been uplifting to listen to edm djs record their sets online during this pandemic-quarantine. It has also been touching that internet strangers have saved these sets for those who were unable to be available to watch the live streams. I haven't used soundcloud in years, however it has definitely been nostalgic to return to this and remember all the sets I saved in the past to dance along to in the comforts of my bedroom or garage. With the shelter-in-place, I intend once again to use these sets to dance and shuffle around to. Let's get back to uplifting ourselves and finding things that give us inner peace <3 But also, have you listened to edm while prepping and cooking?? It makes it so much more fun and hype! My schedule these days looks like Gryffin with my morning coffee, Tokimonsta while "WFH," ARTY for my workout, and Kaskade or Dab the Sky while I'm making dinner :)

9/12 til Hawaii - cardio to cap the week

Image
EDC has completely slipped my mind this year,  until it popped up everywhere on social media. It's always fun seeing people's outfits and hair accessories. I think deciding on outfits is part of the excitement and anticipation for attending music festivals. And we all know that Edc bods are hashtag summer goals right? Anyways,  this year I didnt feel any sense of "fomo" except when I woke up this morning and read about Walter White (Bryan Cranston) ft Above & Beyond! This Breaking Bad fan is so peanut butter and jealous. That badassery must've been pretty awesome to witness. Ok, main point of this post. I love to tune into the livestreams during my workouts. I usually end up dancing along with the go-go dancers, djs, and attendees. Even though I'm not at the festival, and would probably never go to EDC, it is still entertaining to listen to the streams especially within the comforts of your house - clean bathrooms, comfy bed, water, food, ac, no traf...

day 18: Fasted dancing/insanity

Image
okk, little confession, I didn't work out yesterday because I told myself I would sprint in the evening after work.. But, the sun keeps setting earlier and earlier and well my mind and body thinks I should get ready for bed soon Z.z haha. At least I got a lot of studying done instead I either need to make my willpower stronger or move my sprinting schedule to earlier. Knowing myself completely, I will have to do HIIT/sprints earlier. One advantage of not having the gym for lifting seshes is that I am more strict on my low carb/keto diet. Before I'd say ohh I can burn off the ice cream or this slice of pizza or eat my burgers with buns since I'll make today a squat/deadlift day. But now I'm really trying to limit carbs to about 50g or less a day. I don't think I burn nearly as many calories doing cardio as I did when I lifted. But it's A-OK. I still eat well :) Example: this steak fajitas wrapped in lettuce because I was craving tacos and burritos. And...

Monday 6/10: Insanity Plyo

Image
Who am I kidding... for the duration of the Insanity workouts I am basically doing the mummy kicks, jumping jacks, butt kicks, sprinting and mainly just dancing around amped on black iced coffee. It is LOADS OF FUN and not embarrassing because there's no one to see me bust my dorky moves. Plus EDM music just makes you naturally just want to jump around like an energizer bunny Speaking of naturally wanting to jump around and get into the music, Key & Peele's: Dubstep is kind of hilarious to me  insanity, workout, motivation, dance, nervo, cardio, key & peele, dubstep,  And this is what I made for dinner: Chicken boobies marinaded with oyster sauce & sriacha with homemade salsa on top/lettuce wraps

DAFT PUNK COCKATOO! Need no words to explain the awesomeness of this birdy. I just wish I had a magnificent plume like her so that when I dance I can look just as awesome!

Dance like no one's watching

Image
Because no one is if you're doing it in your room! This particular video is about an hour and half long. I just pretend I'm at a rave or concert and just dance like it's no one's business. Trust me, it's very fun. uplifts your mood, guaranteed works your core practice on your dance moves? really warms you up on a cold night when you don't want to head to gym, cause it's cold just let go If you're shy still, you can have clips of people doing the harlem shake or whatever dance choreography on youtube and follow along with them. But then, I get distracted and kind of sad I can't dance  -gracefully -with swag -or with sex appeal Embrace the awkward I tell myself.

this is the second best Harlem Shake video that I came upon thus far....

Yea, I've watched quite a few now. It's like porn-addiction. You know you shouldn't watch it, but you still can't help yourself from watching more. Hahaha I kid. I'm only speaking from other people's experience? Honestly!

Porter Robinson // Circle Assembly Tour

Image
(I took this picture @ Hollywood Palladium, Porter Robinson) I had absolutely so much fun on Saturday with my friend and his friends at the Hollywood Palladium to watch Porter Robinson live. O M G I have this habit of setting low expectations when I go hang out with people, because then it's only your responsibility to make the most out of everything and exceed those expectations! And guess what, I at least have a good time every time. This hang out was planned two months in advance, and I kind of thought my friend was joking about buying the tickets. But true to his words we went. It was crazy how people were just waiting at the gates trying to pawn off their tickets since the event was sold out . It was originally $35 but they were going for at least $100. Ridiculous :/ I'm so glad originally the tickets were at a decent price, because surely Porter could've made it more expensive and obviously people would still buy. I'm not kidding when I say that we DANC...
