12.23 Day 3 - Workout for the food gains

Image
Wednesday 12.23 Workout : -Volume sumo deadlift -DB single leg deadlift -cable leg abduction -cable glute kickbacks -single leg press -one legged side press I was a bit rushed for time because I kind of lagged with the workout this morning. Also had lunch plans with my brother so I didn't do very good time-managing on my part. However, I think I did a pretty decent job busting out my workouts efficiently and quickly. I just wish I didn't forget my polar watch so I could know how many calories I burnt with this pretty killer workout day! Diet : okk. So I did 2 pretty decent lowcarb-keto diet days before today. HAHA I guess I made it a high carb day today :) I knew I was going to eat pretty carby and not refrain, so my logic is to make up for it at the gym. Regardless, no regrets! It is definitely easier to stay on your workout schedule and be diligent with your diet if your friends all live far away or are super busy. But when there's the occasional time you ...

Long, long MDW weekend recap

Image
I'm still having withdrawals from a jam-packed half week with my love(s) in Norcal Sat I spy a unicorn! Drove to Norcal then almost immediately the bros took me to Sac Valley shooting range (but not before we grabbed a few tacos from the taco truck :D). I got to shoot with the AK-47 and AR-15. my goodness... I can't believe my manfriend and friend has those guns #murica. It was quite fun to be at the shooting range. Although, I have no idea if I even hit the target with the heavy-duty guns. I think we were just shooting with the guns mainly for the thrill, ha. On the otherhand, I am a good shot (pun hehe) with the handgun. first bullet to the head, second bullet to the chest. pew pew. When we finally left the shooting range, we came upon a saloon in our path. We're in gun country now boys . I think we got 4 amber ales for $10, holy so cheap. And of course country songs were being played, with people shooting pool in the background. The coolest part of the saloo...

1/12 til Hawaii - the weekend

Image
Ok, so I will try not to indulge so much in the next 11 weeks. But this weekend I saw my friends and also my manfriend came to visit me. So here's my last "hurrah" to eating and drinking beers leisurely! Met up with Bellies and had Umenoya ramen, in Torrance. haha their spice is pretty killer, and I only got level 1 T_T. Definitely felt it later.. Then we headed towards  Newport beach and rushed to go watch Furious 7 in Imax! Such a bittersweet movie :(. So many feeeeels~ and I love how the franchise is tying in everything to past movies (namely Toyko Drift ), and also how they alluded to Paul Walker's death and good bye in the movie without killing off his character. continuing on - Right afterwards, we kind of rushed to the Newport beach beer festival . I found the Groupon VIP deal but unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the extra hour of beer tasting, and also it was dark by the time we arrived. It would've been wonderful sitting on th...

Well, I was counting days till Halloween. It has passed now

It's only been like 1.25 week since I got my LASIK done. Seems like forever ago! The dry eyes have gotten better and halos around the lights at night is less halo-ish. But I still haven't really worked out except for light fasted cardio and pullups/chinups . I'm still too scared to do pushups and go lift. I think when it has passed 2 weeks I'll finally go to the gym! I actually can't wait. It's crazy how 2 weeks of no lifting really played a number on me. Ok to be honest I did lose weight while doing low carb/keto diet and fasted cardio in the morning. But I need more than that. It probably was mostly water weight and whatever gains I made on my booty. I feel so strong and more confident when I push myself at the gym with weights. I can imagine my muscles shriveling and my body fat enveloping me more currently.. Another thing I am looking forward to is putting on eye makeup. Holy crap... I look tired without makeup but my awesome friends and manfriend t...

Day 10 and Day 11

Weekends are for indulgences , right? hehh because on Saturday I had carby Chinese food deliciousness for lunch, then late at night hung out with friends and ate a couple Trader Joe's lemon bars & wined on some pink moscato. and then on Sunday, I had Taiwanese breakfast for the first time! My friends ordered in Chinese but I believe we ordered: turnip cake, shredded pork rice roll, scallion pancake, shrimp omelette (it was pretty wet), pig in a steamed bun (pork belly was so soft), and to wash that all down, soymilk. Going on food adventures and having such a satisfying, delicious experience without spending much at all makes me Super happy  I knew once I got home after eating that satiating meal, I'd want to crawl onto my bed and watch Tv while relenting to the food coma.  So I dragged myself to the gym for Day 10   (Sunday) workout: -Did more SQUATS because my glutes were not hurting from Saturday's sesh. Did my damn volume training! -Leg Abd...

August process

Image
Ive realized I never posted a progress pic of what I have accomplished the last few weeks of september and beginning of August. Before OSL/Beginning of August : Workout: Lots of fasted cardio, sauna, and lifting Diet: Mostly keto/low carb diet Mid august (the first 2 weeks of August):  Workout: HIIT sprints and pushups, Cycling 14 miles American river bike trail (Sacramento), PR at deadlifint 225 lbs, plenty of ab wheels Diet: eating late nights, drunk munchies... mostly protein and veggies on weekdays, low carb burgers, carne asada and BBQ, ice creams at night, some beers, some alcohol, pizzas on weekend, and 2x buffet = I ate so well! I guess ab wheels and hiit sprints were my saving grace.. hehe. Totally worth all that food grubbing.

Be merry, eat & drink

I am probably not the best 'fitness' blog because I eat often and drink once in a while. Gotta enjoy life right? Currently, in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, there is a restaurant event called DineLA happening. It's basically when high-end restaurants have a set menu for lunch/dinner and have 'lower prices' than usual to cater to the more general population. Or basically, it's a yearly (or bi-yearly) occurrence that foodies look forward to so that we can indulge ourselves. I also yelp quite devotedly.. so this is my guilty pleasure >:) On Friday, I went to Fogo de Chao , a Brazilian bbq steakhouse in Beverly Hills that serves all you can eat different assortments of meat... And they also have available a salad bar. Oh my god, gluttony. I didn't stuff myself, and also chewing meat for a while makes you tired of eating. But my plate was more or less fully stocked the whole time I was there because the servers were really good at coming around ...
