Break the Block - Thank you Tahoe House

I suppose the writer's block has finally been chipped down just a little. I'm ready to be inspired and motivated again. Maybe also eager to revolutionalize myself and continue to make a path for where I want to see myself in the future. It's a path for one, and I am embracing this independence of going with the flow revolving only around me and wherever I may want to explore. Most importantly, it's me truly finding my own happiness and self-confidence once again while strengthening my bonds with my family & close friends. I am loving 2017 so much. Before.. this blog was a timid, inhibited, superficial journaling of my workouts, diets, and adventures. I think I still may be timid and superficial (as in I may not scratch beyond the surface), but this time I will try to leave more lasting impressions and thoughts. Hello to intermittent blogging

Hello intermittent blogging :) This semester has been extremely busy, but the hardest part has passed for me. I finally have time to take a sigh of relief and work on other aspects on my life I would like to grow in. I know I say this all the time, every year.. but heh, let's try to get some abs for my NYE birthday this year? I think blogging and documenting what I meal prep and what workouts I have accomplished will help me better stay accountable. So, this may not be the most interesting content, but welcome to real life that's busy with a healthy lifestyle! =) Workout today: stairmaster, box jumps HIIT, tire flips HIIT. + sauna Rotisserie chicken egg salad : chopped up apple, celery, onion, cucumber, and rotisserie chicken. Added in walnuts and dried cranberries. Sprinkled garlic powder and black pepper, then coated with greek yogurt. :p delish

EASY PEASY, no extra fluff, PROTEIN waffles!

For some reason I was craving waffles today, but I've also decided I want to eat more wholesome & also less carbs (mostly from bread, sugar, rice however). Therefore, I decided to look up Protein frickin waffles! I noticed there were more "easy" ingredients for protein pancakes, whereas, for waffles there were "more" ingredients. Well.. I guess I'll try to experiment today and if it's a fail, I shall be eating chocalate-y egg scramble. Intriguing Luckily for me, today's attempt was a success! Here's another 3-ingredient no-fluff recipe :D . EASY PEASY 30 g whey protein (or like 1 scoop) 1 egg 1/4 cup water Since I didn't add baking powder, the waffles didn't rise but I'm totally ok with that. You know how sometimes you have a goal-dream-ambition & then you let go of it for a while and forget about it? But then like an intuition the drive comes back full force to you when your soul, mind, and body  are ready for it again.. Past couple of days I've been wanting to blog again. Nothing different has changes or occurred in my days (which I am thankful for because I am very satisfied & happy with the course and pace it is going at currently). I think I want to challenge myself creatively  a little bit and do a little passion project for myself. Maybe it's the spring forward daylight saving time change & my body somehow knows the days will be longer to get more shit done! hooray Maybe it's because I've been listening to podcasts on my commutes, and it has opened up my mind to other areas of growth again and Maybe it's because spring is here now and summer is upon us again soon. Which means, summer bodies right? and this is a fitness-lifestyl...

My blog took a summer break along with me... I miss the long summer days and being less busy though. I don't want my blog to disappear off to oblivion so I'm going to try putting content more often, (goal for now, once a week at least??) We'll see how it goes, I have to be better with time management, and also find a way to stay perky all day instead of just from 5am-1pm. But no worries! I've been eating healthy, drinking lots of water, trying to get in an appropriate amount of sleep each night, and also squeezing in my workouts. Thanks to this video, it has spurred me to come back to my blog and share it :D

The one weekend in Hollywood-Ktown-Silverlake

Darn, I'm trying to recap last weekend a week later.. I'm not sure why I haven't been able to sit myself down and reminisce with words. It's been a struggle haha. Regardless, Finally!! I am determine to finish this blog post. So, Saturday I had time to watch Youtube vids and play around with makeup:  Sarocha B Prom makeup  is what I attempted! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of my attempt because lighting in a club is dark you see. Basically, my makeup was dark and sultry; typical girls' night out style of makeup. I had such a great moment dancing the night away and meeting new strangers  - MS54 [see what I did there, eyy haha]. However, I believe the best memory of the night may be when we left Create and right next to the exit was the glorious dirty dog stand. It is only after dancing for hours would I really ever consider buying hot dogs from the streets.. but live in the moment, and devour the experience I say! I was very ecstatic and content...

Long, long MDW weekend recap

I'm still having withdrawals from a jam-packed half week with my love(s) in Norcal Sat I spy a unicorn! Drove to Norcal then almost immediately the bros took me to Sac Valley shooting range (but not before we grabbed a few tacos from the taco truck :D). I got to shoot with the AK-47 and AR-15. my goodness... I can't believe my manfriend and friend has those guns #murica. It was quite fun to be at the shooting range. Although, I have no idea if I even hit the target with the heavy-duty guns. I think we were just shooting with the guns mainly for the thrill, ha. On the otherhand, I am a good shot (pun hehe) with the handgun. first bullet to the head, second bullet to the chest. pew pew. When we finally left the shooting range, we came upon a saloon in our path. We're in gun country now boys . I think we got 4 amber ales for $10, holy so cheap. And of course country songs were being played, with people shooting pool in the background. The coolest part of the saloo...

What's in my GYM bag?

Okk... so, I've decided to kind of come out of my comfort zone! Currently, I've been interested in vlogging, but more like documenting my random, weekend adventures and outings. And since I just recently got a GoPro, I've been itching to test it out and also film/edit and try to squeeze some creative juices out of me. However, I haven't done anything exciting as of yet . LOL. anyways, for shits and giggles I filmed a Tag: what's in my GYM bag. Gawdd, I get camera shy and now I know some of my mannerisms that I can improve on. I also think with practice, I can become much better at articulating my words and also leveling my speaking skills more with my writing skills (I consider my writing skills more advanced than my conversing skills - Awkward introvert level ). Sorry guys! I'm not sure how the week passed me by so quickly? It's funny how I've been waking up early and sleeping at a decent hour too. And I think I was quite productive each day, but still didn't give myself enough time and motivation to blog. I think I've been just kind of in a blogging rut - But I promise I worked out! hmmm, if workout is not blogged or documented, was there really a workout? haha jk Wait. I also think I had another culprit - LOL Youtube vids . Lately I've been obsessing over youtubers' apartment tours and morning routines. HAa.. I'm such a "voyeur." Youtube videos have given me other forms of motivation and inspiration, although it does create a lot of wants as well. (well, that's why there's so many ads and product placement right? exactly) Anyways, What I've learned this week : 1) Planning out meals in advance is definitely helpful. Summer body: Week 4 - Sunday & Monday

Sundays are meant for crop tops and pjs with a cup of coffee! Sunday Was pretty sore from all the working out from week 3. But decided I should go work out, especially since it was about time to wash my hair o:) -Kayla Itsines BBG week 1 legs workout -5 min cycling -sauna Monday Mondays are hard. Lately, I've been making my Mondays my rest day because, Mondays are hard . Also, it seems to be the most crowded day of the week at the gym. I've stayed away from fruits and smoothies for a while because of the carbs/sugar - a no-no for keto and low carb diets. I also read that essentially you are consuming more calories than you normally would, you gulf down the fruits in excess. To go about this, you can add more liquids, chia seeds, and veggies. That should be a quick fix. I've forgotten how much I adore smoothies! Summer body: Week 3, let's work off those noodles

My favorite comfort food: Jjampong & Jja jja mein Oh man, it's about 8 pm on a Friday night and I just woke up from a food coma slumber. Currently drinking coffee and tea to wake me up and to also help me digest the NOODLES I have gorged on previously. --- 2 hours later ---- Although, I ate semi-gluttonously, it has given me energy and motivation to KILL my late night Friday workout: Volume training Deadlift. 135 lbs 10x10 5 mins stairmaster + 10 mins cycling I was pretty surprised how busy the gym still was at 10 pm. Pursuit of summer body: Week 1 - Tuesday

I'm going to restart my counting once again. At the beginning of this year, I planned to keep track of the weeks alongside the calendar.. But it's already week 9 of 2015 ? and uhh I don't show 9 weeks of progress currently. Progress and regress, am I right? So, I took a "Day 1" picture today. Haha, how many "day 1" pics have I already taken?? My ultimate fitness goal is to have abs for this summer. Huzzah, time to be aesthetic Today started off with a little bit of a hiccup. But sometimes things happen even if you plan accordingly and in advance. Certain aspects are out of your hand, so what can you do? Just recoup and try to recover. After running some errands in the morning, I went to a different LA fitness location since it was closer. I really don't like it when trainers try to be nice and ask you if you want to be trained. And they pretty much dilly-dally around so they can show you  basic workouts, then eventually end up at their desk talk...

Week 8 - The Weeknd

I don't quite understand how the weekends always pass by so quickly! haha I don't even stay out late anymore :P Saturday  Did a quick fasted workout before starting the day. I got to check out the Ruche & Threadsence sample sale in Downtown Fullerton. We went at around 1:30 pm and the line wasn't long at all. There were still many boxes of clothes but I wonder if the selection was so much better earlier? I still was able to get 5 articles of clothing that I really like! so cheap too - What a win :).  Then my friend and I dilly-dallied and basically drove around in circles. Eventually we ended up at a cafe, per my request, to get lattes and cotton candy clouds! What an adorable concept. However, it was a bit more costly than I would've preferred. Also, it was quite loud each time the machine was turned on. haha I shouldn't have drank a latte so late at night though. Week 8 - Friday. I hate you LA fitness

I don't have a complete food journal for Friday, because after work. I came straight home instead of stropping by the gym and just ate a lot of carbs - CHIPS, CEREAL, huge bowl of BROWN RICE. I should've stopped by the gym as originally planned, but I am currently peeved off at LA fitness . Friday afternoon, I found out I had already paid for the month of February and March. This royally pisses me off because the whole month of February, I've been working out at home and doing a lot of cardio when all that time I had gym access.  Even though I DID NOT want to pay for it. But what can you do? BAD business ethics, and they won't refund my money. I was so frustrated and irritated that I wanted to punch & kick everything on my way out yesterday. In hindsight, I should've gone into the gym and kicked at the punching bag - since oh hey I can go into the gym. I had to go straight to work however. Spontaneous Potato Chip Rock!

I've been wanting to hike to the Potato chip rock for a long time. But it is a bit inland of San Diego and whenever we went to SD, we had other plans. So this was a spur of the moment thing when my friend invited us the night before! Sometimes I like to plan out fun things in advance, but other times, spontaneity is great too. I would've been at home happily Netflixing if I didn't go hike :P (it was a busy week with a little bit of stress!) Ok, the hike was at a steep incline for the whole 4 miles uphill. Wow, I was sweating the entire time and I was also out of breath the majority of the time. Hobbes  the corgi was such a champ however; he was being alpha dog and quite aggressively finished the hike. I have been absolutely neglectful of my blog baby and that I am guilty of. I have so many things to update about generally but they go months back and I feel like I have missed the window to state them. haha, but that won't stop me updating about them later >:) Hello 2015! Saturday, Sunday, Monday - 11 days left

Playing catch up on blogging is hard. I've come to realize that I'm not very good at keeping track of what I do everyday and looking at pictures I take each day really helps me. Is this like short-term memory stuff? Saturday Woke up incredibly sore from the squats and deadlifts however had the energy and motivation to go to the gym and do Kayla Itsines  BBG week 2 Friday total body. I'm used to doing my fasted workouts in my room LOL but being in the gym environment where strangers can see your workouts kind of makes you more accountable for each workout. Gotta look like a badass you know. I ain't got this body just from chilling. jkjk I did.. been eating chips and chilling on my bed while watching tv, that's why I don't have abs :( Afterwards, unofficially celebrated one of my best friend's birthday! Got asked to be her bridesmaids and we went wedding dress shopping. One step closer to getting our friend married! She is going to be a beauuuutiful bride...
