Spontaneous Potato Chip Rock!
I've been wanting to hike to the Potato chip rock for a long time. But it is a bit inland of San Diego and whenever we went to SD, we had other plans. So this was a spur of the moment thing when my friend invited us the night before! Sometimes I like to plan out fun things in advance, but other times, spontaneity is great too. I would've been at home happily Netflixing if I didn't go hike :P (it was a busy week with a little bit of stress!)
Ok, the hike was at a steep incline for the whole 4 miles uphill. Wow, I was sweating the entire time and I was also out of breath the majority of the time. Hobbes the corgi was such a champ however; he was being alpha dog and quite aggressively finished the hike. I did not know a corgi could waddle so passionately ahaha.

We finally reached the potato chip and saw a line of people waiting to take a picture on it. No one ever tells you that it's quite scary to jump into a crevice and climb up to the rock. AND that the drop from the rock is very high. I was very anxious and would not stand up on the rock. haha I scooted with my butt to the middle of the rock. Good enough. Honestly, people are really fricking brave or I'm a fricking pansy. One person even stood on the rock, then lifted his son onto his shoulder while maintaining his balance. I am much too clumsy to trust myself to do such things. HAHA
One of my favorite part of the hike was when after taking the pictures, we found a huge rock on the edge of the mountain and ate our lunch. My friend's unofficial roommate made everyone sandwiches and packed us beers and chips and juices. So thoughtfully awesome! He is definitely the best "Sherpa". This Sunday hike and car ride was definitely one of my favorite moments of 2015 thus far. Cheers to making more memories! :)
