If you follow this blog, you might realize that I try to find sources of protein that are more natural and healthier than protein powder (and cheaper as well) healthy, protein, soybeans, soy, powder, nuts, protein powder, natural, organic, korean,  Usually my source of protein for post-workout is tofu in a smoothie. But one day I noticed my mom had bought this and decided it would be a good source of protein! :D If you're Korean, you may recognize that this is the powder that coats dduk (rice cake). To make this powder I believe the soybeans are roasted til they are browned and then grinded. And we all know soybeans are good for you! Homemade Protein Powder!

I recently ran out of protein powder so I started looking up possible substitutes. BLACK BEANS! Haven't tried out this powder yet, but excited I have all the ingredients at home already and don't have to shell out money for protein powders, they're quite pricey.. Also feeling better because this time I know exactly what I'm putting into my body instead of wondering what that amino acid-protein-lab synthesis information is all about :) Step 1 : 1 tbsp each of dried soybeans, oats, brown rice, and black beans to coffee grinder. Soybeans and black beans are protein-rich but strong flavored, whereas brown rice and oats have less protein and will mask the stronger taste of the soybeans/black beans,  (soo.. I'm assuming everything is dried) Step 2: Grind until flour-like consistency. Add Ins: 1/2 of a vanilla bean and 2 tsps. each of maca powder and spirulina.   Can add chorela, matcha, wheat grass powder, raw cacao powder, etc Step 3: Keep protein powd...

Today I felt like eating Pancakes

So yummy! 1/2 cup milk with some protein powder to give a chunky texture 1/2 cups oats 2 eggs cinnamon honey blueberries (giving the pancake the blue hue) Blender Heat non-stick pan and I used olive oil Tossed some whole blueberries into the batter as it was cooking Made two big-sized pancakes :) Chopped up some strawberries and put it as a layer between the two pancakes.
