IIFYM hot cheeto stains

You know you're doing IIFYM right when you realize your pointer finger and thumb are stained red from hot cheetos while you are paying for the low-carb Carl's Junior burger. HE HE HE So last week I tried macro counting/percentages/IIFYM for the first time and I think my body is liking it. However, at times I did indulge in junkfood (ie: ice cream, beer, chips, etc) and I am going to attempt to do macros the 'clean' way this week to see if results are faster. Also, I have realized that if I eat junkfood, it leaves less room for other meals thus I am a little hungry too (even though I eat 1500-1600 calories) We shall see! Experimenting :) Anyways, it is fasted cardio time this wonderful, gloomy Monday morning which I am hoping means rain shall fall upon southern California! Fasted jump roping time! but usually what i mean by that is shuffling, dancing, hip thrusts, belly dancing, booty popping, unce unce-ing while having either Insanity or Grey's Anatomy play...

Tabata Workout

Tabata 1 round Custom Timer Create your own interval timer or download our interval timer app So, I think Tabata is high intensity interval training. I like it because it's quick spurts of energy expenditure. And you go at your own pace, the fastest and most intense you can push yourself. So 1 round is 8 intervals of 20s (workouts) + 10 s (rest) = 4mins Apparently 4 minutes is enough of a workout, however I like to do 4 rounds total = 16 mins! I'm trying to graduate that to at least 5 rounds next time :) Push Push Push Here's a list of cardio workouts you can alternate. You can also just stick with one workout (ie: sprint all out bawls out for 20 s and rest 10 s then repeat) sprint jumprope burpees mountain climbers plank to pushup pushups pushup jacks dips jumping jacks squat jumps butt kicks high knees

Rehydrating Dried figs

Image
I don't usually eat dried fruits because I heard that the sugar content is very high. However I found a bag of dried organic figs from Costco and decided to try them. I've never seen or tried a fresh fig before but I do know that they're all the hype in the health and fitness outlets. ps, they're beautiful fruits/flowers Ok, so in the beginning, I was just nibbling on the chewy and crunchy texture of the dried figs which took me back to a Korean snack I used to eat when I was little (don't recollect what it was, but it was probably  dried persimmon). I wanted to figure out more creative ways to use the dried figs, and eventually came about with fruit flavored water It tasted so clean and sweetly detoxifying. In the mason jar, I sliced up dried figs, sliced fresh strawberries, and threw in frozen blueberries. Let it sit in the fridge for a while so that the fig can be rehydrated and the water can become flavored. Love it!

Foxes - Echo

Did you know I only post songs up here if I actually like the song enough to put on repeat at least 4x in a row? haha my closest friends know that I absolutely do not like to listen to songs on repeat (I really hate having songs stuck in my head, it's so distracting and annoying :/ I knoww, there are people who LOVE songs and have them on constant replay throughout their days). Therefore, whenever I care to listen to a song over and over for a brief moment, I know I have to add it to a playlist. :) Also, don't you love it when youtube recommends a song for you and it's such a bullseye keeper. Technology can be creepily accurate with all the data we input daily.. I can hear your thoughts Oh please don't leave now I can't sleep alone Chasing the light until the dawn Thought we left a trail Back to the way that it was I can see it now In your eyes you let it fall Running in a crypt of a thousand words Hiding in the dark when the violence starts Looking for a s...

I love having workout buddies

Image
I'm very "high expectation" when I write down my workouts each time. Meaning, each workout is pretty dang intense. However when I workout by myself, I tend to give myself some leeway and you know, take out some reps here and there. Mebbe a set too... o:) BUT, when I'm working out with friends, I realized they're all amazingly very motivating and are really good at pushing both of us to complete the regimen that I wrote down; no leeway. Maybe... I should take out some workouts beforehand :D JK The workout that really made me sore this week TOTAL BODY WORKOUT : ARM -pushups 4x10 -up-downs 3x15 -dips 4x10 SHOULDERS -pike pushups 4x8 -bent reverse flye 4x12 BACK -pullups 4x8 -cable rows 4x8 BOOTY/LEGS -squats on smith machine 15 20 20 15 -glute kickbacks 3x15 -some squat jumps in between sets ABS/CARDIO -mountain climbers 3x30s -high knees 3x30s I got the inspiration from   http://www.fitbodyhq.com/workouts/beach-ready-body-workout/  and I added ...
