Week 7 - Friday

Friday - Fasted cardio : week 7 of Kayla Itsines workouts. I did the whole thang and made it a Total body workout : legs, abs, arms, cardio. It was lots of burpees, sump squats, pushups, leg raises - Bfast   coach's oats with frozen fruits and activia strawberry yogurt -Lunch wheat bread sandwich with ham, gouda cheese, and avocado -Dinner pan-fried corvina fish - Snack : lots of chips :( Earlier this week I originally decided I wanted to do IIFYM/flexible dieting. I was going to try out 40C 35P 25F, because this girl wants to eat her carbs and still get abs and live that fit girl dream! However, I remembered that I bought gelatin capsules because I read that they can help with plateaus and generally have great health benefits. BUT, it seems to really jumpstart fat loss when done conjointly with a keto/low carb diet . Guess I'm back to doing keto/low carb for a bit. I ate way too many 'unhealthy' processed carbs this week anyways o:) PS: wha...

Monday - 25 days left

Yesterday I checked my mail and finally got this bad boy from Groupon: Jarv NMotion bluetooth earbuds with sports armband. It has changed my life. HAHA jk, but it's super convenient to not have to wear an armband and just have my phone in my bag or on the table. I can't wait to use this at the gym when I don't have to constantly take out my phone from the armband if I want to text or look up something (haha I know I know, I shouldn't be texting so much while doing my workouts, but at least I do it quickly and after a set is done, right?). o:) Imagining how it'd feel to have bewbs melon sized. Fattie Friday gluttony

woo I ate a lot of carbies today. X.x I shall call today High carb reload day. ha joke. I just can't resist spicy Jjampong and fried sweet, sour, hot Gam pong shrimp (korean-chinese fusion food) It's ok, I didn't eat excessively since we shared family style. :) But regardless it was a carb overload , considering my usual ~50-60 g of carb allowance. haha with the "high carb reload" mentality I convinced myself that I might as well be merry and continue on with carbing: EAT the white rice, EAT the leftovers for dinner. Overdid a bit and actually considering doing a second bout of cardio when I'm done digesting. Yes, I need to be better at restricting myself and finding a fine balance, but I'm absolutely not kicking myself. The meals today were delicious! Brutal Bodyweight HIIT 3 - Christine Salus

I have to say this is my favorite Christine Salus Hiit workout yet. It's great because there is no need for equipment, just your own bodyweight and what you put into the workout. Did this video right after work and before dinner. Honey can't eat until workout done for the day! So for a couple of days I was a bit out of commission in the working out aspect because while I was doing HIIT Sprints I must've tweeked my knee. X.x google said it's Runner's knee . Whatever it was it really hurt and I could feel my joints grating against each other o_0 grosses me out. So I let that rest and mend itself while I took calcium and glucosamine pills which I believe really helped speed the healing process. However, I also noticed that I really need to be active every day because I get restless, lethargic as well, and kind of low-key depressed. Need my natural endorphins I suppose. Saturday Fasted cardio: 1000 Calorie HIIT Workout - Christine Salus

Okk. I only did part 1 + dancing around and jumping around because I was doing this fasted. But hey 1000/3 = about 333 calories. I'll take that! I started to look into youtube HIIT videos because I got a little bored with the Insanity workouts. It's also motivating to see "in real life" people working out too (Shaun T is like a workout guru/celebrity :P) Listening to great unce-lifting music really, absolutely helps! I came upon Mandy Lee 20  HIIT playlist today by random search on Soundcloud. Great for cardio for sure :)

Day 10 and Day 11

Weekends are for indulgences , right? hehh because on Saturday I had carby Chinese food deliciousness for lunch, then late at night hung out with friends and ate a couple Trader Joe's lemon bars & wined on some pink moscato. and then on Sunday, I had Taiwanese breakfast for the first time! My friends ordered in Chinese but I believe we ordered: turnip cake, shredded pork rice roll, scallion pancake, shrimp omelette (it was pretty wet), pig in a steamed bun (pork belly was so soft), and to wash that all down, soymilk. Going on food adventures and having such a satisfying, delicious experience without spending much at all makes me Super happy  I knew once I got home after eating that satiating meal, I'd want to crawl onto my bed and watch Tv while relenting to the food coma.  So I dragged myself to the gym for Day 10   (Sunday) workout: -Did more SQUATS because my glutes were not hurting from Saturday's sesh. August process

Ive realized I never posted a progress pic of what I have accomplished the last few weeks of september and beginning of August. Before OSL/Beginning of August : Workout: Lots of fasted cardio, sauna, and lifting Diet: Mostly keto/low carb diet Mid august (the first 2 weeks of August):  Workout: HIIT sprints and pushups, Cycling 14 miles American river bike trail (Sacramento), PR at deadlifint 225 lbs, plenty of ab wheels Diet: eating late nights, drunk munchies... mostly protein and veggies on weekdays, low carb burgers, carne asada and BBQ, ice creams at night, some beers, some alcohol, pizzas on weekend, and 2x buffet = I ate so well! I guess ab wheels and hiit sprints were my saving grace.. hehe. Totally worth all that food grubbing.

Fasted Cardio HIIT

Oh.. my love- HATE relationship with cardio always gets the better of me :( However today is MONDAY and I must make an example of this week! I originally planned to do uphill sprints on a hill, however even though I had the right mindset, my heart was not ready. haha So I made a small compromise and did:  HIIT 10 cycles of 30 sec all out balls out mountain climbers + 5 pushups , then rest Very convenient. Takes very little space and is perfect for when you are short on time but need a cardio BOOST <3

90% vs 10%

This is my current progress. I've been lifting, doing fasted cardio, and also suana-ing. But after my lift sessions I would eat such things as poptarts, chips, donuts, pizzas, ice cream bars... I'm pretty sure this is why my progress isn't as effective as it should be. I've decided to quit my literal post workout blackhole meals for the next 1.5 weeks cause next weekend is fricking Outside Lands! Ahhh :D Oh and my friend told me since 90% of diet is how we get abs.. in a way that means 10% can be cheat meals. 10% of 30 days is only 3 days of cheat meals a month. Doesn't this logic make sense? hahha it opened up my mind! Anyways. Push strong dears! There's a way when there's a will. And I want to see what I can achieve .

I am looking like such a punk ass kid haha. This morning I finished fasted cardio, drank a protein shake and went to the gym for a chest, triceps, shoulder sesh. Then drank another protein shake while eating my post workout “blackhole” meal. Morning fasted cardio: 100 jump rope 75 high knees 50 squats 25 pushups 150 jumprope 75 jumping jacks 200 jump rope 75 butt kicks Chest, Shoulder, Tri workout at gym: DB chest press Cable flyes Standing straight arm pulldown Tri extension pulldown plate row Y-raise to shoulder press Later today I'll try to do some more pushups and ab wheels

Recording myself

I've been fooling around with the idea of recording myself while working out (after I saw some youtubers record themselves doing insanity). Why? Because when you record yourself, for some reason it makes you more accountable and want to go all out in each movie. haha I workout by myself.. so in a way my sad phone/camera and I are kind of like workout partners. Also... this is basically my first time ever editing a video clip. It's not too bad right? hahah 1 round of Tabata is 8 cycles of 20s cardio + 10 s rest (I omitted the resting parts from the video) Int 1: Burpees Int 2: Mummy Kicks Int 3: Jump rope Int 4: Jumping jacks Int 5: Butt Kicks Int 6: Squat Jumps Int 7: High Knees Int 8: Dips I don't get feedback so I'm not sure if I should keep the 10s rests in the video. Tabata Workout

Tabata 1 round Custom Timer Create your own interval timer or download our interval timer app So, I think Tabata is high intensity interval training. I like it because it's quick spurts of energy expenditure. And you go at your own pace, the fastest and most intense you can push yourself. So 1 round is 8 intervals of 20s (workouts) + 10 s (rest) = 4mins Apparently 4 minutes is enough of a workout, however I like to do 4 rounds total = 16 mins! I'm trying to graduate that to at least 5 rounds next time :) Push Push Push Here's a list of cardio workouts you can alternate. I've decided to add insanity back because my stubborn belly fat is not trying to disappear. This is in the midst of the insanity program last year when I still ate like crap, casually had a daily beer, and ate late at night too; that's telling you Insanity cardio really pushes me and gives me the best results. Summer was ending so I kind of weaned off insanity :P I really need to stop going back to square one on the fitness spectrum! So I popped rhodiola pills today and did what Shaun T kept yelling.
