because who doesn't want to do less cardio?

Image
These days I've been catching up on youtube videos while on the dreadmill or stair- soul- master . They make the time go by a bit faster while being informative, inspiring, and entertaining. Most of the youtube vlogs end up averaging around 10 mins, and that's enough time for me and my post-lifting cardio sesh (please, don't sign me up for cardio) In the is video Jen Heward does HIIT cardio 1 mins each, do cycle 3x jump rope air squats plie squat jumps mountain climbers (knees to opposite elbow) walking lunges (30 lunges each leg) reverse crunch leg lifts I'm going to attempt to try these in the morning before I head out... but we'll see! She was so sweaty and out of breath afterwards hahah. I can't be tooo tired before I even start my day :P

Tuesday - 24 days left

Image
On Monday I did ab tucks and ab pikes with the stability ball and crunches while waiting for dinner. I was still a bit sore from Kayla Itsines's workout and had a test to study for as well therefore no workout. And on Tuesdays I don't wake up early enough to do fasted cardio, so before lunch I did 35 minutes of jumping rope. :) Kind of had relatively lazy days the past two days, but back on Kayla's workout tmw! Can't wait to kill the workout! { Pacsun : Kirra black dress// Bullhead black jean vest} For some reason when I see people running around on bike paths and around the neighborhood, I think it's such a great sight. Maybe it's because seeing that makes me motivated as well? I'm not sure. Or the fact that there are a good number of people who jog around with their family and/or friends or even by themselves. I've tried to convince my family to take evening strolls with me, but ever since Daylight Savings, it's become much too dark once...

Low Carb & Keto ideas

Image
Halloween is in two weeks. Time to hone in diet and I know keto works the fastest for me. Wish me luck :( carbs taste even better when you restrict them *Breakfast option: fruits (I am not going to take fruits out of my diet, instead I will allot myself to have them in the morning) and/or protein shake -nuts -hardboiled egg -peanut butter Avocado, egg toast Chili cucumber noodles Wedge salads Cucumber roll ups Baked parmesan zucchini Cucumber chicken salad sub wrap omelet wrap Low carb sausage bake Bean sprout "noodles" SNACK: Blue diamond almonds. smokehouse flavor is my favoriteee This is such an awesome alternative to chips, albeit it is a bit salty. However I need some flavoring in my life since I kind of eat my food on the bland side. Sometimes I feel like I don't get enough electrolytes, namely sodium, in my diet. But then of course when you eat packaged food (like even sandwich meats) ...

Curls for the Girls

Image
I've kind of been obsessed with wanting a nice, cut back.. in addition to trying to grow my glutes and shedding stubborn belly fat while trying not to lose my God-given nicer mounds of fat above. I want so many things T_T. Does that make me a motivated, goal-oriented, go-getter? Yes yes, let's just say that instead of labeling me as someone who isn't satisfied. So, I started doing the Macros,IIFYM, Flexible dieting thing. hahah hype?? I'm not sure, but so far my body is going well with this uncertain flow. I've also been eating 1500+ calories when before I would unintentionally be eating below 1200, sometimes even eating at around 1000 (unintentional! I've just been eating 'clean food' that were not caloric-dense therefore I was always full). Now I have more carbs in my diet and I'm loving it! Anyways today's workout for Back and Biceps (did it in fasted condition): assisted pullups, chinups, dips one arm lat pulldowns closegrip la...

Fasted Cardio HIIT

Image
Oh.. my love- HATE relationship with cardio always gets the better of me :( However today is MONDAY and I must make an example of this week! I originally planned to do uphill sprints on a hill, however even though I had the right mindset, my heart was not ready. haha So I made a small compromise and did:  HIIT 10 cycles of 30 sec all out balls out mountain climbers + 5 pushups , then rest Very convenient. Takes very little space and is perfect for when you are short on time but need a cardio BOOST <3

Lemon Water to boost your metabolism and burn fat

Image
I remember one of my professors told us that one summer she drank lemon water everyday, throughout the day. She lost about 10 lbs without trying (she’s already skinny too but active). She feared she had cancer or another disease, got checked out and found nothing abnormal. Her doctor and she concluded it was the lemon water that boosted her metabolism.  What’s funny was that the next day most of the girls in class had bottles of lemon water. I always forget about this, but I’m going to try to incorporate lemon water into my everyday lifestyle :). Try not to put added sugar or honey. Maybe if you don’t like the bitterness of just lemon water, you can squeeze lemon into green tea.  Oh ps: I saw this picture on yoga_girl's instagram and so I screenshot it to remind myself to drink lemon water. I would love love love to have her life. She is in love, optimistic, and shares her passion for life and yoga with everyone. I am not a yoga guru however... I am one of the most inflex...

Sunday: weekly diet planning day?

Image
haha wow today I spent quite a bit of time on Pinterest organizing my old likes and boards. It's one of those sites that really suck up your time because you invested so many things you want to save for a future project or for your future in general. But the one disadvantage is that I've collected so many things that I pinned to look at later, which I have forgotten. I want to kind of get into a habit of looking back at them (while not wasting too much time) and bringing them out into action. Monday Breakfast: Banana, cinnamon, honey Lunch: Chopped Thai chicken salad   http://pinchofyum.com/chopped-thai-chicken-salad Dinner: Chicken, egg, cranberries, apples, nuts, onions, greek yogurt salad eat with veggies Tuesday Breakfast: Omelette wrap omelette wrap Lunch: salmon with yu choy inspirations.. Dinner: Cucumber salad with greek yogurt, tomato, avocado, salt, black pepper. Add chicken or tuna Wednesday Breakfast: blueberry chia ...

I'm trying to get abs in a month. Ok more like 3 weeks

Image
It's kind of disheartening that I've been working out all year for a while; ok there have been lapses of weekday workouts and also falling asleep after dinner... And you know how they say, summer bodies are made in winter... Well, I'm still trying to get to that summer body. However, I have to admit it has been a learning experience and I feel like I am one step closer to understanding myself and my body and figuring out what works and what isn't as effective. I know the best way for me to get skinny and lose fat is an intense amount of cardio. Think of doing Insanity diligently or forcing myself to go through an hour of cycling class. My body needs to be shocked, needs to cry, and needs to sweat.   In these pictures I looked like a typical cardio bunny .  But I didn't have any definition. My stomach was still jiggly looking whereas the rest of my body didn't have much fat (of course I lost some of my boobs too). Summer-Fall 2013 I was the skinni...

Recording myself

Image
I've been fooling around with the idea of recording myself while working out (after I saw some youtubers record themselves doing insanity). Why? Because when you record yourself, for some reason it makes you more accountable and want to go all out in each movie. haha I workout by myself.. so in a way my sad phone/camera and I are kind of like workout partners. Also... this is basically my first time ever editing a video clip. It's not too bad right? hahah 1 round of Tabata is 8 cycles of 20s cardio + 10 s rest (I omitted the resting parts from the video) Int 1: Burpees Int 2: Mummy Kicks Int 3: Jump rope Int 4: Jumping jacks Int 5: Butt Kicks Int 6: Squat Jumps Int 7: High Knees Int 8: Dips I don't get feedback so I'm not sure if I should keep the 10s rests in the video. Well now that I think about it, it would've made sense to include the 10 s rests so that if anyone decides to workout with me, it'd be in real time.. should've thought of t...

Yesterday I learned that ginger is a diuretic

Image
I'm sure everyone knows ginger is good for you, but don't know exactly how it's good for your body. Personally I didn't know either but I just saw some ginger hanging out in our fridge and decided to make honey + lemon + ginger tea. And I've been peeing all day. At the beginning of the day I thought it might be the coffee making me use the bathroom so much, however finally by the latter part of the day I realized the culprit may be ginger. It is. Ginger is a diuretic. I've also learned some more key reasons to continue to use ginger and I'm loving all of them! Fights cancer, specifically ovarian cancer. And the American Cancer Society promotes ginger as a cancer treatment 'to keep tumors from developing.' Helps with irritable bowel syndrome - calming effect on our digestive system. I definitely need these for presentation days.. Slows down loss of brains cells (typically seen leading to Alzheimer's) Relieves/recovers muscles (useful ...
