I'm trying to get abs in a month. Ok more like 3 weeks
It's kind of disheartening that I've been working out all year for a while; ok there have been lapses of weekday workouts and also falling asleep after dinner... And you know how they say, summer bodies are made in winter...
Well, I'm still trying to get to that summer body. However, I have to admit it has been a learning experience and I feel like I am one step closer to understanding myself and my body and figuring out what works and what isn't as effective.
I know the best way for me to get skinny and lose fat is an intense amount of cardio. Think of doing Insanity diligently or forcing myself to go through an hour of cycling class. My body needs to be shocked, needs to cry, and needs to sweat.
The only disappointing aspect of my journey thus far is the fact that I gain fat in my abdomen area first, however it is the absolute last place to disappear from. No matter how strong I am getting pushing my limits with heavier weights, the belly pouch won't budge. I am now convinced after my trial and errors that cardio is essential.
So now I am trying to find a happy medium. Every person's body is different, and I'm attempting to find my equilibrium.
I hope I can get abs in 304 weeks! I think it's quite possible

In these pictures I looked like a typical cardio bunny.
But I didn't have any definition. My stomach was still jiggly looking whereas the rest of my body didn't have much fat (of course I lost some of my boobs too).
Summer-Fall 2013 I was the skinniest I have been for a while (105-108 lbs). I was doing Insanity and going to cardio-centric classes (cycling, NIKE training club, bootcamps). I mostly ate clean- lots of vegetables and fruits. I ate when I was hungry and I had mostly complex carbs but not too much protein in my diet. Seemed like my lifestyle was working for the most part.
Fast forward a few months, ya know, daily life hurdles that gave me 'excuses' to not work out as diligently... I think I only gained 5-7 lbs, but boy do those numbers show. I like to think of this phase as my 'bulking season.' I cut out cardio from my regimen and stuck with only weightlifting because you hear everyone saying diet and weightlifting is key to weight/fat loss. I continued to eat clean, however I had a terrible, detrimental habit of lying in bed after dinner and then eventually falling asleep. This is the aftermath T_T (I thought it was a bad angle, but alas no, my cheeks ARE a little wider).
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love weight training and am envious of those girls who skip cardio or only do 1-3 days of cardio a week. My body type is just not like that, well maybe not yet. Hopefully, I can evolve my body into a metabolic, buffass fat burning machine.
I also love weightlifting because I feel so strong (sometimes badass)
It's awesome reaching new heights of my PRs. And it's so great seeing my booty slowly yet surely growing. Squats and Deadlifts *thumbs up*
picture: 185 lbs sumo deadlifts :)) I'm 113 lbs currently.
