Top : LAhearts from Pacsun Sandals & Necklace : Steve Madden This past weekend I did some spring cleaning and realized how much I have accumulated from Pacsun exclusively. SOO, I thought it'd be a fun challenge to see how many outfits I'll conjure with an article of clothing from them. I'm by no means fashionable, but I'd like to think that I know what appeals my body and makes me feel both comfortable and "heep." My style probably does embody someone with a casual, SoCal mindset. I am drawn to downplayed edginess or cutouts along with subtle details. In essence, I look like someone who tries more than she does, because in actuality she just throws on a piece almost effortlessly - attires from Pacsun make it seamless. Frankly, I think most pieces from Pacsun really elevate your wardrobe :)

{ VS  tulip workout tank// Volcom  shorts} Thursday : Did Kayla Itsines ' week 1 Monday+Wednesday circuits. Meaning I combined both days so I only had to do a circuit once through = 4 circuits in total! Wednesday's workout is a lot of ab work 0_o. Also cute workout shirts motivate me even more :) This tank makes my back look sorta muscular.. haha I've been doing  pullups/chin ups when restless and bored at home. Also been doing pushups . I think they have been beneficial especially since no gym membership yet. Friday : Was planning to do uphill sprints first thing in the morning, however not enough willpower for that and body is just so stiff. Good thing there's week 1 Friday workout + another good HIIT playlist I found. 30 days of working out

First Day of JULY Today when I realized today was the first day of a new month, I told myself I could do 30 days of workouts.. dang it I didn’t work out today, but I realized there’s 31 days in July! Mustt work out tmw and not let myself skip a day I’ve been so busy, but I’m going to try posting what I eat (mostly low carb and keto diet and some moderation) and what workouts I do (strength and cardio) Day 1 (I actually didn't post) Had an exam for my online course but walked on the treadmill for fasted cardio while reading my notes. My favorite way to review notes. I feel like walking helps your mind be more awake, but maybe that's just my logic. Actually I feel really guiltless when I get to watch Netflix while on the treadmill :D I mean I'm being productive! Day 2 an hour to kill Today I had a little more than an hour to kill after an exam and before lab. My new friend asked me if I wanted to check out a taco place near campus, but today I was motivated to fit in a cardi...

Oh man I gotta mentally prepare myself for LEG day. Wear the right clothes, fully charge phone for music, find some fitspiration and think about BOOTY #operationgrowabooty Also hope to catch Ryan Gosling at the gym Yesterday I went to a cafe and got one of their  Intelligentsia coffees . It was so strong (& delish!) I felt slightly buzzed. Needless to say it was perfect for LEG DAY and I went HARD at the gym. However I couldn't fall asleep til 6 am the next morning..  Ps, I don't usually drink coffee and tea (unless I water them down) and I most definitely restrict myself from drinking caffeine after 3pm simply because I actually stay awake. Why do people (Ahem bros) suck at re-racking. The only comfort I have to having to take off all the plates is that it's extra energy expenditure and I guess I'm still "lifting things and putting them down." Ryan Gosling fitspiration/motivation. Self-explanatory. Oo...

Usually I write down my workout plan before I get to the gym but today I didn't have time and had to figure it out in the changing room. Surprisingly, I had a greatt workout today! Yay to improvisation! Chest, Shoulder, Tris = ARMS DAY 5 min rowing machine chest cable crossover chest press machine lateral/front raise with DB Seated raise to Y-press (here's a picture and where I first saw this move ) - this one is killer, use lighter weights) tricep cable pushdown with straight bar  shoulder upright rows I meant to go home and do 100 pushups and 100 ab wheels and 100 dips on a chair... but those can wait til tmw. Arms have been thoroughly worked out today :) Success!

Volume Training

This past weekend my Buffy @grraceface put me through squats volume training. That was on Saturday, today is Monday evening and my legs are still sorely sore. With 75 lbs I did 10 set of 10 reps, with 90 seconds of rest between each set. 10x10 = 100 squats! Usually with squats you're supposed to do the hip thrust once you're up, but with the volume training she told me to go deep down into the squats and just come back up then squat.. til yo set is done. I noticed the first 4 sets were ok/do-able but once I got to sets 5-7 I was faltering. I think the 8th set was the hardest for me, but I told myself just 2 more sets and 9th and 10th were done with more ease. Interesting how our bodies and minds tie in mentally and physically so well. I've always seen it mentioned in the fitness world, but never really looked into it thinking it's just a hype or the next new fad. But I came upon a blog from LiveLifeActive  and it was very informative and a great starting point for anyone who is curious. Haha this morning I decided to flex a little in front of the mirror just for fun. Hey.. seems like the pullups, chin ups and dips are working (still doing assisted ones) I kind of convinced myself that since I gain weight quickly, like when I look at a picture of a glazed donut I gain 5 lbs, I must also be able to lose weight and gain muscles well too. Definitely optimistic thinking and I have no idea if it's true or reasonable. However, I haven't been able to workout in a week and half since I was ill, therefore this process is so random to me. Nevertheless, it planted a seed of more motivation and glee at the proof of process. And I need that. The past couple of weeks, I have been sick with a sore throat, congested nose, slight fever, and muffled-ears. It was frustrating because I felt like speaking was difficult and hearing was impaired, my senses were all so muddled. My eyes were hot from fever and my head was dull with congestion and I had a seemingly-dense head...

slight pet peeve

Yesterday I had a good workout but it ended on a "meh" kind of note. It was good cause I was wearing two sports bra and they were thoroughly soaked >:) Chest, Shoulders, Tris 3 x 15 DB shoulder press 15 DB lateral raises, superset 10 pushups. Do 3 sets 3 x 15 tricep extensions 3 x 15 cable crossovers Butt while waiting for the squat rack... cause some dude likes to look at his phone and sit on the actual bar whilst waiting in between, weird. 10 plie squats followed by however long you want to jumprope (with DBs) Do 4 sets Squats 4 x 10 increasing weights each time Deadlifts since I went up to 95 lbs last time, I decided to start with 95 today. Cake! did about 10 reps (eventually) and then added 5 more pounds (not much difference!) was going to make it 105 lbs BUT THEN while I was in my Dianasaur-mode, some dude came up to me and I asked me how many more sets I had left. Deadlifting high

This past weekend I had one of the best workouts I have ever had because my best friend came to visit me and there was finally someone who pushed me with my workouts. I asked him for a regimen that'll target our backs and butt so it consisted of sprint walking on a "hill," lunges, squats, deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pullups, pushups, and leg raises. I was definitely sore for the next two days. I am so glad of this workout because I was able to show myself how much I can push myself and how much I can endure and achieve. Our workout lasted two hours and although I was relieved it was over, I felt like maybe, just maybe, I could've done more; well, to the point of pure fall to the floor exhaustion. With squats I was able to do 95 lbs but was a little too scared to do more. (my squats before were with 25 lb plates only :P) And for someone who never deadlifted because she was scared of hurting her back, I was able to do two sets with 95 lbs. work, study, play work study play work study play work study play work study play work study play work study play work study play I've been so busy functioning and living life that well, you can tell... Showering has kind of been a nagging second thought, Food is always on my mind, What is gym? And sleep is my lover. It has been a thrill ride trying to balance my school, work, studying, sleeping, and weekend fun. Working out has really been on the backburner (I've still been doing insanity and lifting weights, don't fret, just not as diligently) and I feel like a jiggly chunk most of the time. Thank goodness for packing my own lunches, formless scrubs, black-shirt diets, and extremely well air-conditioned rooms that require jackets. I'll try to come back to this blog more often. It's been such a long while that I almost forgot about it really. There's about a month and a half til Halloween, my new mission! Uh oh, tis the season to be able to be scanda...

Incentives

I think knowing that I'm going to gorge at a meal gives me one of the best incentives to push myself extremely hard during a workout. Hence today, I knew I must PUSH HARD before I go to ayce sushi 0:) Today's workout: Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance and I added two 5 lb dumbbells in the mix (I held them while doing jumping jacks and whenever possible during the movie). Definitely makes your heart beat faster and works out your arms! This is my current "before" picture. I'm going to try to make the "after" picture drastically obvious? hopefully! I keep yo-yoing in my progress; gaining water weight, gaining fat, shedding fat, gaining muscles. It's so skewed :( My month of August goal is to prioritize my time better, not procrastinate, and workout at least 5-6 days out of the week, and in turn keep this going on for the rest of my life. I'm going to start being extremely busy in about two weeks, but that should not rob me of at least...

Yay for workout dates :)

One of my best friends and I have decided to workout together every Wednesdays! So good because we keep each other accountable and learn new workout routines. I think I want us to switch off every other week to plan out the workout of the day :P But yesterday I planned the workout and she wanted to do arms and I wanted to do booty ARMS -Dips -Cable crossovers -Cable pressdown -on knees pushups LEGS -leg press -swiss machine kick backs -abduction on floor -jumping squats (vs she did wide stance, narrow stance, and sumo stance squats) I usually do weights that I can go as 'heavy' as I personally can and do 8 reps each. But with Anabelle, we sometimes did lighter weights and instead did more reps. It works! my arms are hurtingg Love how we're working out together! But then we went to yardhouse afterwards and enjoyed some happy hour goods. OOPS :) maybe next time we won't do that, except just enjoy a post-workout brew ;)

I'm so bad with temptations :D

Just got asked if I wanted in n out.. can't refuse Saw a bag of chips on the table, had a few. handfuls.. Discovered 4 cartons of ice cream in freezer. Actually refrained myself! This is why I never buy junk food! Anywayss, I've been pretty busy and drained the past three weeks. Got to travel back to norcal to visit my awesomely cool friends for July 4 and time just passed by so quickly. Ate relatively healthy and did Insanity 85% of the days there. Then rushed back home via Amtrak with basically everyone and their moms and their families the Sunday after and found out I'm returning my car for another. And finally BAM waking up at 6 am every morning for school. It's been 1.5 weeks and I'm gradually warming up to my new 'family.' There are two girls that I seem to click the best with, but I most definitely have an easier time befriending guys. "WE NEED MOAR DUDES," as my guy friends would say. I got you guys, I'm recruiting. Was I missed?

I didn't have internet for the past week because we thought our router was broken. Turns out actually there was a problem with the modem and the satellite. A technician finally came and made everything back to normal and I'm a happy clam. Glad I no longer have to look at my phone screen for internet stuffz. Seriously #firstworldproblems though not having internet and foxfi only alloting you 5 minutes of wifi :( My friends make fun of me for being kind of homebody, introvert-like, too lazy to go out girl. But I finally came out of my introvert cave and the past week has been quite filled. June 12 & 13: brother's birthday celebration He adamently chose Din Tai Fung for his birthday dinner, so my family and I went there. MMM! the soupy wontons were my favorite. I do not understand however how Chinese people are skinny! Everything is so sodium-fied, doughy, and carby. Must be all the jasmine and green tea they drink? I love tea, but I have banned it for the time-being...
