Was I missed?
I didn't have internet for the past week because we thought our router was broken. Turns out actually there was a problem with the modem and the satellite. A technician finally came and made everything back to normal and I'm a happy clam. Glad I no longer have to look at my phone screen for internet stuffz. Seriously #firstworldproblems though not having internet and foxfi only alloting you 5 minutes of wifi :(
My friends make fun of me for being kind of homebody, introvert-like, too lazy to go out girl. But I finally came out of my introvert cave and the past week has been quite filled.
June 12 & 13: brother's birthday celebration
He adamently chose Din Tai Fung for his birthday dinner, so my family and I went there. MMM! the soupy wontons were my favorite. I do not understand however how Chinese people are skinny! Everything is so sodium-fied, doughy, and carby. Must be all the jasmine and green tea they drink? I love tea, but I have banned it for the time-being since tea keeps me awake all night :(
Then the next day I told my brother that we must go to BJ's to obviously grab a birthday pizookie. The lunch specials are not too bad! I think each salmon dish was about $9 if not lower?
June 15: kitesurfing, graduation dinner, & downtown fullerton
We found a livingsocial deal to go kitesurfing. Though I felt a bit gipped because the description made it sound like there would be some surfing/water time. But once you do try to fly the big kites, you do realize that no way is it possible for a beginner to steady a kite at a specific angle to capture the wind while balancing on a board on the waves that are constantly crashing. hehe
I think I can mildly brag that I am a natural kite flyer :)
In the evening we all met up again for the graduation dinner/party (very family-oriented & G-rated) and filled our bellies up gratuitously nomnomnom. It was totally exciting to watch the little kids and their parents playing Ellen Degeneres' Heads Up game... whereas us "old ladies" sat on the couches and digested while looking at some of our friends figure out a crochet pattern. Maybe it was a good idea that afterwards some of us headed to downtown fullerton to burn off the food dancing to some hiphop. "To the windows, to the walls."
I love those nights when you meet new friendly people and dance the night away together.
June 10: Heats vs Spurs
It's actually time for me to recuperate in my introvert cave, but I got persuaded to go hiking at the Claremont hills trail
Was sweating like a mofo in my leggings (I did nottt want any bug bites)
But nicely chilled beers make me happy =)
Ahhh I love my friends. Hahah I think the last time I've seen most of them was in February -__- Although time and distances separates us for a long moment, thank goodness to group text messages, instagram, tumblr, and snapchat for us to constantly update each other and when we do see other in person we just start off from where we left off <3.
I used to worry that life is so long and that it seemed to be that I would lose a friend here and there over time because of different goals, schools, cities, personalities, stages in life. But I've learned to just appreciate each moment I spend with a person and live that moment to the fullest. I tend to be a personal, secretive, often-times closed off being but to each person that I've opened up to because they gave me the time and effort to get to know me, I absolutely miss you all and hope that life is treating you well.
Anyways the reason I thought of that somewhat melancholy concept was because I believe these group of girls I can hold close to my heart for life :)
Speaking of Snapchat..
one of the silly girls came up with a motivator for all of us: everytime we work out we must send a snapchat of it. 4 workouts a week for each of us. Something like for every workout (of the 4) not accomplished, a dollar goes to our drinking/clubbing stash. LOL. I'll be amazed if we collect enough for one drink.. But in hindsight this is a great idea because it keeps us accountable for our summer bodies :P.
summer, hike, beers, friends, kitesurfing, surfing, beach, asian, korean, california, southern california, long beach, claremont hills trail,
