Week 4 - a recap

Tuesday, Jan 27 Workout: Didn't workout this day. Still ate low carb/keto &  kept full with the Costco Mamma chia blackberry hibiscus drink . A bit too sweet for me but the whole bottle only has 64 g of carbs and it can last you for a whole week. Also , I rearranged my clothes and truly found out how many sports bras I own! Seeing all the sports bras I own, I feel like I should be a buff girl by now! haha why is getting abs and growing a butt hard? I must like food too much? That must be it. Wednesday, Jan 28 Workout: Fasted cardio in the morning 4 rounds of 7 minute HIIT Ate Souplantation but stayed away from the carby stuff (pasta and baked goods). In the evening after work, I felt like doing more cardio since I had a buffet of veggies earlier o:). Did Kayla Itsines week 4 Wednesday (arms & ABs) workout. It also helped energize me to work on my research paper. Thursday, Jan 29 Finally done with my month long course that I had to wake up early ...

Saturday On this day I decided to try out Cellucor Super HD . haah why not, I wasn't planning to go anywhere. I don't know how to describe the effects of preworkouts. Do I say the "come up" was kind of sudden? Or the energy "hit" me a bit intensely in the beginning? haha I'm just kidding. It did make me jittery and a little sick in the beginning. Also made my heart beat faster or maybe some anxiety kicked in. Soon enough however it tapered off and I had a decent cardio session. I think it definitely gave me some energy but was not very long lasting as I had anticipated. I did notice that my hunger and appetite was suppressed for a while (I was mildly starving when I woke up in the morning) but hey, this girl's appetite is never really gone :). I ate fine after my fasted workout. Hehe, I think I have 2 abs that are trying to pop out.. but they're a bit fatty. I'll take it though, progress is still progress ^_^. On this Saturday I also f...

I decided the best way I can show my mom I love her is to attempt to cook one of my favorite dishes for the family. I guess it would make sense to cook HER favorite dish.. but she never tried ciopinno and I wanted to introduce it to her. Spent most of the early afternoon looking for ingredients and fresh seafood. Then labored in the kitchen deveining all the shrimps, scrubbing the feisty crab, washing down the mussels, and prepping all the vegetables. I spent at least two hours in the kitchen, but then again 40 minutes of it was to boil the base and most of it was prepping. My mom teased me and said I should've just taken her to a restaurant. Woman! This is homemade and it's going to be better than some restaurants! I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I believe it came out great! :D On the side I made balsamic vinaigrette pasta with leftover mussels & toasted sourdough bread for the cioppino. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/cioppino-rec...
