Current Summer Morning Routine This week, I originally planned to wake up at 5 am, but unconsciously turned off the alarm (every single day of the week.. I guess 5 am isn't happening yo). Alas I woke up at 6:45 am today. Nevertheless, I strive to start off the mornings well. Make it a Good Morning !~ While I brush my teeth, I boil a full kettle of water for my black coffee and freshly brewed passion fruit tea that I. and my family, can drink throughout the day. I don't know why, but drinking tea just makes the day a little better instantly. While I wait for the coffee grounds to steep, I try to do something productive. It rotates about these activites depending on how early I wake up and how I feel that particular morning: listen to podcasts (current favorites are The Smart Passive Income  and Ear Biscuits ) while checking my instagram feed read my daily devotional and have QT with God listen to edm unceunce music and do fasted cardio, pushups, pullups, ab wheels. Day 8ish - plethora of fasted cardios and lackadaisical gymming

Lost count of workout days.. Had a lackluster past weekend with a mild case of FOMO. Had to study for test and also help my students study for theirs as well. Furthermore, since I worked out on and off throughout this week, my shower schedule was off and adding onto the mismanagement of my time I slept a tremendous amount. Zzzzz I wish I could carry over the excess hours I sleep. I saw this fact somewhere and thinking about the amount of time we spend sleeping fascinated me. 25 years if you sleep 8 hours on average. haha wow. So if you're 75 years old, you only really have 50 years of life experience :P, since 25 years were spent sleeping like Sleeping Beauty. so.. although I have been working out throughout the week but not as diligently as I would've liked, I'll call today's post Day 8 of workouts I am still penguin waddling around from two days ago when I did 10x10 volume training on squats. woo! Although I had a great squat session, I was pretty irrit...

unplanned rest day..

So today my daily routine has been all screwed up. Essentially what this meme is. And I know how I started my day off 'incorrectly'. Woke up refreshed and ready to workout. I had my lemon, cayenne tea but decided not to make any coffee since I really don't want to develop a caffeine-necessity. Tried to log onto netflix but internet was too laggy to even connect to a page :(. Then I realize how dependent I am of internet/streaming tv and also realized I am not interested in doing Insanity if I am not able to watch tv.. # firstworldproblems Decided to just make a nice sandwich and soon after started reading on my bed and eventually took a nap. Woke up groggy and grumpy. Drove to work grumpy and contact lens drying up on eyeballs. Day dreamt about coffee for the next three hours. Went to Mcds to get a black coffee for a pickmeup. Had dinner with family.. started watching an episode of Chuck . And couldn't find the elusive motivation to go to gym and do my dam...

Adventuring With Purpose

Image
Last week I had to take care of an errand (yes just one errand) in the LA area. I have this rule... if I drive to a place, I have to spend at least the amount of time it takes to drive to and fro at this destination. Well, ideally. I don't really know how to parallel park. But mainly it's because I live in Suburbia and I'm also too afraid to really attempt to try. Why?.. when I got my first car I u-ed into a parked car and also while coming out of a parking spot I scraped the side of my car on a pole....soo ever since then, I've just tried to avoid any situations that would force me to parallel park. I've been successful at it so far *knock on wood* I do know that this is such a handicap for me -__- But I swear, I'm not a bad driver. I just don't do well with inanimate things and I'm not very good at parking, I admit. Well anyways, I yelped around and google-mapped so I had a better idea of where I was heading to. Got to park at a plaza (where t...

Homemade Protein Powder!

Image
I recently ran out of protein powder so I started looking up possible substitutes. BLACK BEANS! Haven't tried out this powder yet, but excited I have all the ingredients at home already and don't have to shell out money for protein powders, they're quite pricey.. Also feeling better because this time I know exactly what I'm putting into my body instead of wondering what that amino acid-protein-lab synthesis information is all about :) Step 1 : 1 tbsp each of dried soybeans, oats, brown rice, and black beans to coffee grinder. Soybeans and black beans are protein-rich but strong flavored, whereas brown rice and oats have less protein and will mask the stronger taste of the soybeans/black beans,  (soo.. I'm assuming everything is dried) Step 2: Grind until flour-like consistency. Add Ins: 1/2 of a vanilla bean and 2 tsps. each of maca powder and spirulina.   Can add chorela, matcha, wheat grass powder, raw cacao powder, etc Step 3: Keep protein powd...
