Deadlifting high

This past weekend I had one of the best workouts I have ever had because my best friend came to visit me and there was finally someone who pushed me with my workouts. I asked him for a regimen that'll target our backs and butt so it consisted of sprint walking on a "hill," lunges, squats, deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pullups, pushups, and leg raises. I was definitely sore for the next two days.

I am so glad of this workout because I was able to show myself how much I can push myself and how much I can endure and achieve. Our workout lasted two hours and although I was relieved it was over, I felt like maybe, just maybe, I could've done more; well, to the point of pure fall to the floor exhaustion.

With squats I was able to do 95 lbs but was a little too scared to do more. (my squats before were with 25 lb plates only :P)
And for someone who never deadlifted because she was scared of hurting her back, I was able to do two sets with 95 lbs. Though it may not be much to most people, I'm still proud of myself. And with increments each time, I can totally UP that weight. I'M SO EXCITED. In the beginning I was a little doubtful of myself and my first attempt to deadlift 95 lbs was difficult. But I shook away that mental block and told myself I can absolutely do it and I wouldn't leave until I lifted the bar at least once. The first time I lifted it, I swear I got a little high.
When your body crosses over from an aerobic state to an anaerobic state, it's suddenly operating without enough oxygen to satisfy the muscles and cells screaming out for it. This is when the "runner's high" occurs. http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/exercise-happiness2.htm
It was a little amazing, although very brief. I can see myself trying to achieve that feel each time; uh oh addicting-complex?

All in all, I needed more confidence in myself and my strength, but I really needed someone to guide me, encourage me, and push me.
This is the turning point workout for me,
thanks Marshmallow :)
