Hachiya Persimmon

Hachiya Persimmons are my current obsessions.
At our house we have a batch of these oozy, ripe persimmons sitting on the kitchen counter because my mom absolutely loves them. I never really understood until she force-fed me some like an infant.

Which is funny, because the texture of mushy persimmons is exactly like baby food, or what I believe it would be like so.
It's like nature's dessert jam/jelly/pudding and it won't give you the runs! Tastes so sweet and you can't help but think you're indulging. Be adventurous, try it! And if you don't like the consistency or the idea of it, people often use the puree-ness of hachiya persimmons in pastries and other desserts.

mmm, want one right now, but I'm trying not to eat fruits at night because I read somewhere that their fructose will convert to fat stored in our bodies......
I'm still not sure about that fact. Will try to look into that eventually
