Day 13 sprint & Back & Abs
Day 13
Oh Wednesday, you hump.
So on this day the first thing I did after waking up was to do some fasted HIIT uphill sprints. I made sure to make Wednesday a successful workout day since I knew later in the evening I would be indulging at a Yelp event o:) Why yes, I am on Yelp elite! It's quite awesome although this year I haven't taken advantage of the title.
I think I will have to warmup jog before sprints next time. Last time I jogged around the neighborhood while listening to my spotify playlist and that made my circulation get going and my endorphins and enthusiasm at a high. But when I ran full speed right into sprints after waking up from my slumber, I was a bit sluggish.
After the sprints, I had breakfast while recuperating then eventually went to the gym to workout my back and Sauna. Back and biceps were thoroughly sore on Thursday! I think my favorite back workout (well other than deadlifts, but I'm laying off on that since my dislocated rib is bothering me) is close grip lat pulldown with a backward bend to work the abs as well. I read that it works out your whole back - upper and lower. win!
So going back to the Yelp dinner. Yelp had the entire roof reserved at Bo-beau kitchen + roof tap in Long Beach. I am such a sucker for rooftop bars, restaurants, pools, whatever. You could probably have a rooftop bathroom and I would still think it's awesome. The menu they had for us was great!!

Crispy Brussel Sprouts that were caramelized.
Roasted beet flatbread that tasted coffee-like to me.
Salmon tartare with a bit of tang.
MMM Moules Lobster Bisque that I wanted to motorboat in.
and desserts - cherry cheesecake and chocolate pot de creme - that I let myself indulge in.
But the best were the drinks they offered: 3 kinds of wine, IPA, Pilsner, Pine & Roses cocktail, and the Bourbon Sour.
Since the event was on a weekday night, I invited my brother. I'm glad we both love food. I'm sure if I took my manfriend he wouldn't eat much of anything if at all since he abhors cheese and also does not have much of a sweet tooth. I think though I would be his DD. hehh :P
