Rice Paper spring rolls

Image
Spring rolls are quite easy to make and they look so delectable! They are also healthy (depending what you put into them: lots of veggies most likely). I think I will continue to pack these for lunch boxes :) I used this rice paper and to make 5 spring rolls it's ~120 calories and 29.5 g carbs (not including meat and vegetables). Not bad at all. You can change up the vegetables and meats each time too: carrots cucumbers spinach lettuce cilantro avocado onions bell peppers red cabbages sprouts jicama tomato no meat tofu sausage beef chicken fish/canned tuna The sauce I like to use is hoison sauce + sriracha + a little bit of warm water. Sometimes I add peanut butter as well. Yum

Cauliflower 'pizza - flat bread' crust

I've been meaning to try out this recipe for several weeks now and I finally tried it out today. Was prolonging this recipe because I knew it would take me a long time to prep and clean up after. I was right. And it wasn't as successful as I optimistically wished it to be. But see the good in everything right? (still optimistic!) It was a nice.. cauliflower pancake-omelet-like result. Here's how I went about it with some commentary. So.. ironically I was too lazy to dig out the processor and put the parts together, therefore I just diced the cauliflower with a knife to "rice" it. It was kind of therapeutic in a way just dicing along. steamed the riced cauliflower in microwave for 7 minutes didn't like the idea of wringing out water with towel so put the steamed cauliflower in mesh strainer and pressed on cauliflower to strain most of the water out. Left it in strainer and occasionally tossed/stirred cauliflower throughout the day. (I would do what

Tabata Workout

Tabata 1 round Custom Timer Create your own interval timer or download our interval timer app So, I think Tabata is high intensity interval training. I like it because it's quick spurts of energy expenditure. And you go at your own pace, the fastest and most intense you can push yourself. So 1 round is 8 intervals of 20s (workouts) + 10 s (rest) = 4mins Apparently 4 minutes is enough of a workout, however I like to do 4 rounds total = 16 mins! I'm trying to graduate that to at least 5 rounds next time :) Push Push Push Here's a list of cardio workouts you can alternate. You can also just stick with one workout (ie: sprint all out bawls out for 20 s and rest 10 s then repeat) sprint jumprope burpees mountain climbers plank to pushup pushups pushup jacks dips jumping jacks squat jumps butt kicks high knees

Hot cheetos. More specifically lime hot cheetos.. Don't even offer to share a bag with me, I will hog the bag and eat the majority of it and you will low-key be annoyed with me (I'm sorryyy, I will buy you a bag ^_^).  Whenever I have a bag of hot cheetos in my hands, in my mind I'm thinking, "oooh you better stop now, or else you'll feel it tomorrow. Ok, just three more chips to satisfy my mouth.. wait, I lied ok a handful. hmm, the bag is almost done I should save it for tomorrow. Nah, a few pieces would just be teasing me tomorrow, just finish it." No self restraint at all . The best form of preventing this is to not even LOOK at the bag. Don't even acknowledge it. Needless to say, I munched on hot cheetos with glorious satisfaction, on my bed. The next day, the scale told me I gained two-three pounds. Hey, I'm sure it's mostly water weight but I also did have an awesome legs day the day before! *excuses* It's crazy how I wor

This compilation always makes me ready for a great cardio workout! 3LAU HAUS #8 (Techibeats Hard Edition) So yesterday I came upon this song on my mp3 and did a quick 30 minute cardio session: 100 jump rope 75 high knees 5- squats 25 pushups 150 jump rope 75 jumping jacks 50 lunges 25 ab wheels 200 jump ropes 75 butt kicks 50 mountain climbers 25 ab wheels For lunch we went to an Indian buffet. Oh how I've missed Indian food :) It was my brother's and mom's first experience with Indian food. Unfortunately, the mother was disappointed; Indian food is pretty distinct with strong spices, needs quite a bit of getting used to. The brother enjoyed the food, but since he kind of has a weak stomach, he had some aftermath to confront later on :/ Seems like this will be my lonely pleasure. Ok! so yesterday wasn't supposed to be a "high" carb day, but since I indulged I had to go hard at the gym. DEADLIFTS And I finally bought myself these gri

I Wanna Be Yours - Arctic Monkeys

It's funny, I tried to like Artic Monkeys when I was in high school but my musical preferences were different back then. Ever since, I adamantly thought I didn't like their music. Today, I am absolutely loving this song and you can count me as a new fan

Back VOLUME

ahh my biceps are hurting, or is it my back? Back/Bicep days are one of my more intense workouts of the week. However, I never really feel like I workout my back very well. Like I can feel the soreness in my arms, but not really throughout my back.. hmm Back & Biceps -10 minutes HIIT stairmaster -10x10 Volume  pullups 4 sets of the following workouts: -Close grip pulldowns -Cable rows -T- Bar rows -Hyperextensions Ok so for 2.5 weeks I've been doing a Keto diet with a couple lapses of carb cheat days :) hahah I think it's been pretty effective however I haven't stuck with it long enough for the results to be exactly conclusive. It was weird that I craved carbs/sugars and actually wanted to eat oatmeal and sweet potato and brown rice only because the diet strictly doesn't allow it. (I'll try to write more about my quick experiment with keto diet soon!).  I've decided to incorporate carbs back into my diet, but only trying to keep it at comple

Usually I write down my workout plan before I get to the gym but today I didn't have time and had to figure it out in the changing room. Surprisingly, I had a greatt workout today! Yay to improvisation! Chest, Shoulder, Tris = ARMS DAY 5 min rowing machine chest cable crossover chest press machine lateral/front raise with DB Seated raise to Y-press (here's a picture and where I first saw this move ) - this one is killer, use lighter weights) tricep cable pushdown with straight bar  shoulder upright rows I meant to go home and do 100 pushups and 100 ab wheels and 100 dips on a chair... but those can wait til tmw. Arms have been thoroughly worked out today :) Success!

I love this! Future me, with silver/white/platinum hair and of course an awesome fanny pack =)

Deadlifting high :)

Today was my deadlifting day! But I was also very lazy in the morning and didn't do fasted cardio. xD Must go harder tmw then for cardio. So.. Last time I did deadlift with my man friend, I got to surpass my mental and physical block of 135 lbs! Holy guacamole. For months I've been stuck and could NOT lift it off the floor at all. However, after a couple of weeks of not working on deadlifts, I was so shocked that I lifted 135 lbs with ease and actually went up to 155 lbs in one gym session. It was crazy I tell you! I can't believe I'm making these gains everywhere. Seeing progress like that really motivates me more and puts me on such a high because there's proof that my body is indeed changing and getting strong. It's an amazing experience even though I still feel like a noob at the gym sometimes. I wonder if I'll ever have that confidence at the gym (maybe when I finally get abs and can shamelessly walk around with a sports bra on, GLOAT). My work

Volume Training

Image
This past weekend my Buffy @grraceface put me through squats volume training. That was on Saturday, today is Monday evening and my legs are still sorely sore. With 75 lbs I did 10 set of 10 reps, with 90 seconds of rest between each set. 10x10 = 100 squats! Usually with squats you're supposed to do the hip thrust once you're up, but with the volume training she told me to go deep down into the squats and just come back up then squat.. til yo set is done. I noticed the first 4 sets were ok/do-able but once I got to sets 5-7 I was faltering. I think the 8th set was the hardest for me, but I told myself just 2 more sets and 9th and 10th were done with more ease. Interesting how our bodies and minds tie in mentally and physically so well. Ok so this is my song of the day for Monday! Britney Spears - Work B**ch! You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti?                                                                       yes You want a Maserati? You better work bitch
