Past weekend fun

One of the greatest joys in life is to enjoy great times with amazing company. To me, the simplest great times are when you can soak up the sun, listening to waves, and eating and drinking merrily with good friends (ok fine, it could be simpler = just eating and drinking merrily with good friends). I got to do just that this past weekend.

Whenever I hang out with this man (I'm going to call him Marshmallow) we drink a lot (of water..) and eat a lot of good food. No wonder I gained some love chubs our first year together. You're the most ignorant when you're happy and fat :) You're also more ignorant when you start wearing baggier, loose-fitting shirts.

Anyways, luckily this past weekend we didn't eat unhealthy at all. I got to take him to Wurstkuche to grab a draft while checking out some hipster LA people, then to a 24 hour BCD soondobu joint because it was late at night and he wanted korean food.

The next day we headed to downtown Anaheim and I read The Alchemist beneath a bamboo tree while listening to the water fountains nearby; it was so zen and calming. Then we ventured off to Redondo beach afterwards and our food adventures began! Oh droool. Before we headed to the seafood market, we grabbed a cup of beer and drank it while walking on the pier. I'm quite certain we would've been chastised for 'public intoxication' since you're not supposed to walk around with alcohol (we totally didn't think of that). Luckily we made it to the fish market without any incidences!

At the fish market, the worker let us take pictures with the lobster. I was scared of getting pinched
but damn look at those claws!
Mfcker, everyday is arm day! Marshmallow told me lobsters with huge claws and huge heads don't taste as good as lobsters with huge tails. We want the tails! And I told him feisty lobsters taste good, so we chose one that seemed kind of aggressive compared to the others.
When we open her up later, we realized she was pregnant. ooohh all those possible baby lobsters! And why is melted butter with tapatio so good to dunk lobster in??
After our awesome grubbing, we walk around the pier and found a cool bar with a huge selection of draft beer, Naja's Place. And we bump into someone from our university. I had physics with him and he used to be Marshmallow's gym buddy. Funny how the human networks can connect. Lol, Marshmallow got a dark beer that tasted like soy sauce to me. I got.. I don't even remember but it tasted much tastier than his and he wanted to trade HAHA yea right.
When walking back to our starting point, we encountered the arcade and played some games of intense air hockey. How intense? I bruised my knees, that intense.
And you know you're a socal girl if you have beach towels and blankets always packed in the trunk :) We are pale people so we chill on the beach at night.

The next day I grabbed a green tea chiffon cake for my mom's birthday celebration. When I was at the bakery/cafe, I honestly wanted to try all the cakes. Oh gawdd I haven't had cake since I can't even recall and I lovee delicious cake. Too bad you can't really eat cake unless it's someone's birthday, but then again, it's probably a good thing :p
But all good things come to an end, until next time!
Great weekends are what I live for!
