Best Midnight snacks for things you crave

I've decided that although this blog is mainly for my fitness journey, I also want to include my personal views and once in a while musings as well. Although I'm not entirely a peta supporter I still believe that animal cruelty is horrific and this clip makes me cringe and disheartened and upset. Nothing should have to endure that much pain and suffering. I don't think it's really ignorance entirely, but also that sometimes we are just not exposed to education. Here is my attempt to try to share some knowledge with a random stranger who comes upon my blog. Although fur is gorgeous and warm, to me personally, it is not worth the demises of these innocents animal souls.

sooo... do you think the gym will be emptier during the evening since that's when people would go out and have their romantic dinners and festivities and such, yes? Dance like no one's watching

Because no one is if you're doing it in your room! This particular video is about an hour and half long. I just pretend I'm at a rave or concert and just dance like it's no one's business. Trust me, it's very fun. uplifts your mood, guaranteed works your core practice on your dance moves? really warms you up on a cold night when you don't want to head to gym, cause it's cold just let go If you're shy still, you can have clips of people doing the harlem shake or whatever dance choreography on youtube and follow along with them. But then, I get distracted and kind of sad I can't dance  -gracefully -with swag -or with sex appeal Embrace the awkward I tell myself.

Secretly Orange

I really wanted a green smoothie so I finally washed the spinach bunch and attempted to mak e frozen peaches from costco 1 orange water uh.... I basically kept adding enough spinach to make a salad. Verdict: it was a beautiful color but tasted only of spinach HAHA.  next time using apples or bananas or both! +I added a splash of grapefruit juice. and it helped surprisingly

Yea, I've watched quite a few now. It's like porn-addiction. You know you shouldn't watch it, but you still can't help yourself from watching more. Hahaha I kid. I'm only speaking from other people's experience? Honestly!

I dunno... might be because it usually consists of half-naked guys pelvic thrusting. LOL just sayin. I ain't complainin ;) HAHA I kid. kind of. It just looks like so much fun and I would love to be in on that action. Ew get your mind out of the gutter. What I mean is that I would love to just have fun with my friends while making such a stupid-fun movie. I think the best parts of the movies are at the end when it slows down and usually the movies go in slow motion. The most uncomfortable part of the song/movie is when that lonesome fellow dances by himself. I kind of cringe at the awkwardness. I also cringe when it's too raunchy-esque and overdone though. This specific one was the best one in my opinion. It was just pure-fun, random, chaotic, and creative. Loves it

Burn baby buns Burn

Yesterday was an interestingly occupied, good day! My best friend (let's call her Jelly) from college had a sleep over at my house and unbeknownst to me, I'd be friend-sitting her til the early evening because that is when her meeting will be. In any occasion, I'd gladly entertain her and we'd go eat food, browse internet, venture about in stores, etc. But I assumed she'd have a super early meeting and I'd make it to the 'date' with a guy friend. hahaa Jelly calls it a date, I call it a conversation over coffee. We woke up too late for a our ideal workout in the morning, but then was probably too late for me to make the 2 pm 'date.' So we idled around my house watching youtube clips of ukulele serenading, reading articles online, and just being us. Then guyfriend tells me he's running late so luckily I was able to push it to 3:30. Funny how we were lazing around for a moment then quickly changed into our gym gear and headed to the gym, G

The Pain of Red (menstruation)

Another benefit for exercising? Pain relief. Natural human pain relief. I'm quite fortunate in the fact that my monthly visits from the period doesn't usually bring about the unwanted pain and cramps. Actually the only discomfort I really get is more bloating and slight stomachaches that give me diarrhea (I think I would rather have that than constipation to be honest). I remember in middle school I used to have searing pain that would make me double up and just fall to the floor cringing. But that was luckily very rare for me, and I know some ladies have it pretty merciless. I guess I was pretty active in high school because of the stupid obligatory weekly mile runs in PE and also because I was on the swim team. So memories of cramps are very blurry. And college, walking around everywhere to get around made me mildly active.. :) However, I've had some obvious discomfort the past summer when I took a break from Insanity. Pancakes for national pancake day!

Yesterday (2.5.2013) was National pancake day so IHOP was giving free pancakes to customers. 1. I did not want to stand a in a long ass line although it is free 2. I'd rather make my own but a healthier version I was thinking about using protein powder to substitute for flour, but reading about how heat denatures protein made me a little iffy about that... so here's how I made these pancakes :) How I made it: 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/3 coconut flour, 2 tbs, oats, 1/3 cup milk, and with a handful of almonds I threw everthing into my blender. The "sauce" on top is just chobani yogurt. And I got the basic recipe from chocolatecoveredkatie.com but changed the recipe around a lot by taking out salts/vanilla extract/sugar

(I took this picture @ Hollywood Palladium, Porter Robinson) I had absolutely so much fun on Saturday with my friend and his friends at the Hollywood Palladium to watch Porter Robinson live. O M G I have this habit of setting low expectations when I go hang out with people, because then it's only your responsibility to make the most out of everything and exceed those expectations! And guess what, I at least have a good time every time. This hang out was planned two months in advance, and I kind of thought my friend was joking about buying the tickets. But true to his words we went. It was crazy how people were just waiting at the gates trying to pawn off their tickets since the event was sold out . It was originally $35 but they were going for at least $100. Ridiculous :/ I'm so glad originally the tickets were at a decent price, because surely Porter could've made it more expensive and obviously people would still buy. I'm not kidding when I say that we DANC

The LA adventure

DineLA fiasco is finally coming to an end. It's the beginning of February and I would like to devote this month to better clean eating . It's unfortunate how a month of eating liberally can do a noticeable number on your body. oops Anyways, I took this picture while on a rooftop bar in downtown Los Angeles and noticed the office gym across. haha NICEE view. This is dinela menu from Mo-chica, a peruvian restaurant. It was okkk  to be honest, the best part of the meal were the desserts. My friends never tried Peruvian food and I was kind of sad that their first impression of their cultural gourmet wasn't more stellar. It was mediocre at best really... But we had a great night kind of "bar-hopping" while our intention was to go down 1/2 a mile to the rooftop bar. Oh, we actually made it to the Standard  , eventually, like 2 hours later really haha.
