Basketball and beers kind of night

How I made Baked sweet potato (and regular potatoes for my brother) : Boil the potatoes at medium heat for 10 minutes Drain them after the 10 minutes and poke holes with forks Bake the potatoes in oven for 30 minutes at 350 C Slice them in half, carve off parts of the sweet potato/potato, add in salsa and top off with greek yogurt if you'd like. Sides: Tossed in the asparagus for 20 minutes while baking the potatoes Sprinkled garlic powder on them Steamed broccoli. My brother ate his veggies while we were waiting for the potatoes and watching the basketball game. Impatient haha mmm mm very filling and healthy on my part.. too much starch for my brother though. -__-  sweet potato, potato, dinner, healthy, meal, family time, asparagus, broccoli, kid friendly, paleo, diet,

Sicky icky

I'm not sure how I got sick because the people I hung out with weren't sick. They just have cooties and allergies.... But being sick sucks! I was super motivated this week due to my meditation of oneself and being more aware of self-improvement. Although I have not been able to 100%  focus on myself in the physical aspects, I have started to read Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. (I'm trying to improve myself physically, mentally, and spiritually).   The past week I have realized that I haven't been using my brain to the fullest extent. Yea sometimes I memorize stuff for school and regurgitate it but it's all methodical. And I read the news everyday but I can tell you about random, almost common sense stuff instead of political and ideological theories we were taught to express in high school. I yearn to be that funny, witty, interesting, spontaneous character at dinners, parties, and hangouts who can carry a lively conversation about essentially anything. As of ri

Lil Dicky - Ex Boyfriend

Omg the lyrics are too funny. she ma sweetie 3.14 and I ain't usually the one to be the jealous type but as I'm lookin at this dude I can't believe my eyes cuz he's the best looking guy that I've seen in my whole life He's got the thickest head of hair, chiseled jaw, an egregious bod Man this the closest thing I've seen to a Grecian god Man this mafucka look like Ashton Combined wit a lil Hugh Jackman In other words, he's so damn attractive So damn tan he gotta have a little black in him Oh my god Becky, look at that.... Six pack  ------------------------------------------------*note* I'm trying to listen to more songs and pay attention to the lyrics as well because apparently I missed out on a great deal of my childhood and teenage angst listening to & practicing classical music (and having kiis fm banned at our house) while others listened to limp bizkit, blink 182, maroon 5, eminem, nsync, backstreet boys, etc...... yea... 30 minute workout routine that can burn 500 calories

Image
The article from Shape has 5 routines that last 30 minutes each and can burn 500 calories. AMAZING! 5-ways-burn-500-calories-30-minutes I always compare my cardio workouts to Insanity because, well, it showed the best results even when I didn't clean up my diet and ate whatever I liked whenever I liked; I still lost close to 15 pounds in 2 months or so. Insanity is on average 40 minutes long and depending how hard you push yourself, the calories burnt ranged from 350-650. So 30 minutes to lose 500 calories sound really good to me. Shape calls this plyometric routine "jump for joy" and it is my favorite one out of their five, probably because if you try to do it as fast as you can, it might take less than 30 mins :) plyometrics, workout, gym, calories, burn, insanity, routine, fat blast, cardio,

It rings true that's why!

Check out this link for some laughs:  http://www.buzzfeed.com/snuggalo1/the-10-stages-of-trying-and-failing-to-get-in-shap-9yb8  Oh I freaking love the memes Basically it is a short summary of our lives, possibly? Break free from it though! I want those abs and a booty! It's still spring so there's still plenty of time to sculpt :)

This is what I've been doing for the past week

Image
I've been cleansing myself from fast food and carbs (well, actually I don't remember the last time I got fast food, but that's a good thing!). I don't think I see the effects very well this week because I am bloated from that horrid girly time of the month thing. And last week, I had intense cravings for donuts, juicy burgers, crunchy salacious chips, and sodium-enriched pizzas... But I didn't indulge in any. Encountering this picture on tumblr reminded me of how I basically was towards all the food porn thrown throughout the internet. T_T *Sigh* Stay Strong, Stay Strong!  diet, health, cleanse, fit, cravings,

Homemade Protein Powder!

Image
I recently ran out of protein powder so I started looking up possible substitutes. BLACK BEANS! Haven't tried out this powder yet, but excited I have all the ingredients at home already and don't have to shell out money for protein powders, they're quite pricey.. Also feeling better because this time I know exactly what I'm putting into my body instead of wondering what that amino acid-protein-lab synthesis information is all about :) Step 1 : 1 tbsp each of dried soybeans, oats, brown rice, and black beans to coffee grinder. Soybeans and black beans are protein-rich but strong flavored, whereas brown rice and oats have less protein and will mask the stronger taste of the soybeans/black beans,  (soo.. I'm assuming everything is dried) Step 2: Grind until flour-like consistency. Add Ins: 1/2 of a vanilla bean and 2 tsps. each of maca powder and spirulina.   Can add chorela, matcha, wheat grass powder, raw cacao powder, etc Step 3: Keep protein powd
