I guess I'll ease into it

hahah I have so many things to blog about, but particular me wants to do too many things at once. SO, I shall just ease into it again. Today's post is going to be simply my song of the day . I dunno, something about drinking black coffee on an empty stomach and listening to edm with earphones makes a lot of music sound better. The original version of Fired (ft J-Son) - B Robin is also good! I've only listened to two songs of B Robin but so far I am liking them quite a lot.

AestheticDianasaurus trying Intermittent Fasting?

I've always seen it mentioned in the fitness world, but never really looked into it thinking it's just a hype or the next new fad. But I came upon a blog from LiveLifeActive  and it was very informative and a great starting point for anyone who is curious. I'm sorry in advance, I really think in bulletpoints and it's like a visual map for me. So this is going to look like an outline Research I came upon to convince me  Fasts are everyday and your days consist of "fasting periods" and "eating periods" which is a certain amount of hours each day to eat. Fasts are to give your body a break a majority of the fast is during sleeping hours This is LiveLifeActive's IF schedule 16 hr Fasting/8 hr Eating Fast: 9pm - 1pm (skip breakfast) *take 10-15g BCAAs 15 mins preworkout Gym: 12-1pm (hit gym right at end of fast) Eating period: 1pm-9pm BCAAs/Protein right before the workout is to prohibit chance of any muscle breakdown during workou

Yesterday I learned that ginger is a diuretic

Image
I'm sure everyone knows ginger is good for you, but don't know exactly how it's good for your body. Personally I didn't know either but I just saw some ginger hanging out in our fridge and decided to make honey + lemon + ginger tea. And I've been peeing all day. At the beginning of the day I thought it might be the coffee making me use the bathroom so much, however finally by the latter part of the day I realized the culprit may be ginger. It is. Ginger is a diuretic. I've also learned some more key reasons to continue to use ginger and I'm loving all of them! Fights cancer, specifically ovarian cancer. And the American Cancer Society promotes ginger as a cancer treatment 'to keep tumors from developing.' Helps with irritable bowel syndrome - calming effect on our digestive system. I definitely need these for presentation days.. Slows down loss of brains cells (typically seen leading to Alzheimer's) Relieves/recovers muscles (useful

Rehydrating Dried figs

Image
I don't usually eat dried fruits because I heard that the sugar content is very high. However I found a bag of dried organic figs from Costco and decided to try them. I've never seen or tried a fresh fig before but I do know that they're all the hype in the health and fitness outlets. ps, they're beautiful fruits/flowers Ok, so in the beginning, I was just nibbling on the chewy and crunchy texture of the dried figs which took me back to a Korean snack I used to eat when I was little (don't recollect what it was, but it was probably  dried persimmon). I wanted to figure out more creative ways to use the dried figs, and eventually came about with fruit flavored water It tasted so clean and sweetly detoxifying. In the mason jar, I sliced up dried figs, sliced fresh strawberries, and threw in frozen blueberries. Let it sit in the fridge for a while so that the fig can be rehydrated and the water can become flavored. Love it!

Gag gift

Image
I suppose I could talk about the prank gift I made for my manfriend when I went to visit him, since I linked this from my pinterest. I introduce you, the THIRST AID KIT hahaa the idea sprouted from couple of inside jokes "ya'll are thirsty, quench that thirst" sorry, these memes are ridiculous but I'm still giggling like an immature school-girl. and of course, the 'thirst aid kit' plays on the 'first aid kit' I figured if I wouldn't mind someone making me a 'thirst aid kit' I could totally give someone else my version of one, especially to someone else who has the same sense of humor as me. I looked through pinterest but didn't really get much inspiration. Except when I looked up "21st birthday survival kit" that gave me some more insight, however, most of the kits were for the morning after (aka the hangover). I wanted my 'thirst aid kit' to mean, if you're 'thirsty' and need a qu

Get my handstand on

Image
As a kid I was always afraid of hurting myself or getting stuck in a position that I wouldn't be able to get out of (ie: putting leg behind head and not being able to return leg back to normal). I'd go on monkey bars and traverse across it, but I'd never go upside down on it. And at the pullup bars on the playground, I'd just hang on it and pretend to be a monkey, but I never attempted to do twirls on it.. haha I wonder why I had this fear, while I watched my childhood friends spin around? Ok anyways, I guess I gave that little intro to state that I have never conquered a handstand (unless you count handstands in a swimming pool.. but I think that's cheating). So I want to make handstands one of my goals this year. I have tried to be inverted and honestly, I think the head rush was just too intense and I had a headache for the longest time. I think I don't have the best circulation and maybe with gravity added to that, the oxygen and blood that could've
